The Serie A team Torino FC has formally submitted plans to redesign their home ground – the Stadio Olimpico Grande Torino in Turin, Italy – in tandem with the Polytechnic University of Turin.

‘FOOTBALL GROUND GUIDE’ stated that the Stadio Olimpico Grande Torino redevelopment project details has been submitted to the city Council which calls for a public-private collaboration and upgrades to the Robaldo Sports Centre – a key site for youth and reserve football.

The Torino Football Club, colloquially referred to as Toro, is an Italian professional football club based in Turin, Piedmont (Italy) that currently plays in the Serie A, the highest division of the Italian football league system.

The 28,177-seat Stadio Olimpico Grande Torino is a multipurpose stadium located in Turin, Italy. It is the home ground of the Serie A club Torino FC.

‘FOOTBALL GROUND GUIDE’ further stated that the crucial Stadio Olimpico Grande Torino redevelopment move has been taken following the expiry of a 20-year mortgage tied to the stadium thus potentially clearing a major obstacle that has long proved to be a hurdle in the restyling of the facility.

The project will entail not just the Stadio Olimpico Grande Torino redevelopment but a wider vision to make Turin’s sporting infrastructure up-to-the-minute with a focus on sustainability, innovation and multiuse development.
