The Women’s Super League 2 team Bristol City Women’s Football Club (UK) have appointed Hannah Buckley as their new Chief Executive Officer (CEO).

Buckley has previously worked with the Women’s Super League (the highest level of women’s football in England) and the Football Association and will join the club in June in preparation for the 2026-2027 seasons.

‘BBC SPORT’ stated that Hannah Buckley takes over from Lowri Roberts who has held the role on an interim basis since December following the takeover by the multi club ownership group Mercury13.

The Bristol City Women’s Football Club is a women’s association football team from the city of Bristol (UK). It plays in Women’s Super League 2, the second-highest division of women’s football in England.

The Ashton Gate is a multiuse stadium in Ashton Gate, Bristol, England (UK) and is the home of the Bristol City W.F.C. It currently has an all-seated capacity of 27,000.

Mercury13 is a multi club ownership group focused on acquiring controlling stakes in professional women’s football teams across Europe and Latin America.

‘BBC SPORT’ further stated that Bristol City finished fourth in the WSL 2 table this season, seven points off the top two in Manager Charlotte Healy’s first campaign in charge.
