Longtime executives of Kansas City Chiefs promoted Image: Coliseum GSVA

The National Football League (NFL) team the Kansas City Chiefs are elevating two longtime executives – Matt Kenny and Brandon Hamilton – as Kansas City prepares to host its first 2026 FIFA World Cup™ match on June 16th and as the team advances long-term plans for a new $3B domed stadium in Kansas (US).

Brandon Hamilton will be one of the Speakers at the Coliseum Summit US to be held at the Wrigley Field, Chicago, from August 26th-27th, 2026.

Matt Kenny and Brandon Hamilton hosted Masterclasses during Coliseum MENA held last year in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.

‘SPORTS BUSINESS JOURNAL’ stated that Matt Kenny, previously the Executive Vice-President (EVP) of the Kansas City Chiefs home ground – the Arrowhead Stadium Operations and Events – has been promoted to Executive Vice-President (EVP) and Chief Operations Officer (COO). Matt Kenny will continue to oversee stadium and training facility operations while taking a lead role in the design, development and operations of the new stadium, the practice facility and the adjacent real estate projects.

Brandon Hamilton moves from Vice-President of the Stadium Operations and Facilities to Project Executive, Facilities Development. In his new role, Brandon Hamilton will serve as the construction lead for the new stadium and practice facility where he will oversee design with the architects, the engineers and the other project partners. He will report to Matt Kenny.

The 76,416-seat Arrowhead Stadium is an American football stadium in Kansas City, Missouri, United States. It primarily serves as the home venue of the National Football League (NFL) team Kansas City Chiefs.

The 2026 FIFA World Cup™ matches will be held at the GEHA Field at Arrowhead Stadium which is temporarily being renamed as the Kansas City Stadium for the duration of the tournament.

The 2026 FIFA World Cup™ will be the 23rd edition of the FIFA World Cup™, the quadrennial international Men’s soccer championship contested by the national teams of the member associations of FIFA. The tournament will take place from June 11th-July 19th, 2026. It will be jointly hosted by 16 Cities – 11 in the United States, three in Mexico and two in Canada. The tournament will be the first FIFA World Cup™ to be hosted by three nations and the first to include 48 teams, an expansion from 32 previously.

The Kansas City Chiefs are planning to leave the historic Arrowhead Stadium in Missouri to build a $3.3 billion, state-of-the-art domed stadium and entertainment district across the State line in Kansas City, Kansas (US). The ambitious project is targeted to open for the 2031 NFL season.

‘SPORTS BUSINESS JOURNAL’ further stated that Matt Kenny joined the Kansas City Chiefs in 2017 as the Vice- President of Stadium Services and Events after senior roles with the Major League Baseball (MLB) teams Chicago Cubs and the Milwaukee Brewers. He was promoted to Executive Vice-President of the Arrowhead Stadium Operations and Events in 2021 effectively becoming the club’s top operations voice, leading the team that runs the stadium and the training complex including fan experience, security, parking, special events, and capital planning.

Hamilton, entering his 17th season with the Kansas City Chiefs, has specialized in facilities management and capital improvements at the Arrowhead Stadium with a background rooted in facilities and construction. He has led nearly every renovation, modification and capital project at the stadium since 2010 guiding the seat replacement programs, technology and video board upgrades, locker room and Hall of Honor renovations, and the organization’s broader sustainability strategy.

In addition to the new stadium, targeted to open in 2031 in Wyandotte County, Kansas, the Chiefs plan to develop a new headquarters and training facility along with the adjacent real estate projects on a 165-acre site in Olathe, Kansas.
