On 26–27 August, the global stadium and arena industry will gather at the iconic Wrigley Field for the 11th Coliseum Summit US. The event marks the ninth physical US Summit, following two successful virtual editions during the pandemic, and continues Coliseum’s mission of connecting the sports venue industry through knowledge sharing, business networking and collaboration.

Founded in 2011, Coliseum has grown into the only global sports venue alliance, bringing together venue owners, operators, clubs, leagues, universities, governing bodies, architects, engineers, consultants, contractors, suppliers and technology companies from across the world. Throughout the year, the alliance connects every part of the sports venue value chain through international Summits, Masterclasses, daily industry news, digital marketing services and business networking.

The year-round collaboration is centred around the 365 Coliseum Business Center, a members-only platform developed exclusively for the global sports venue industry. The Business Center provides access to more than 500+ summit presentation videos and interviews, comprehensive stadium and arena databases, a global sports venue project database, historical venue information, industry research and the unique Get in Touch Service, which facilitates direct introductions between members. Rather than limiting knowledge sharing and business development to a two-day conference, the platform enables the global sports venue community to exchange expertise and develop new business opportunities throughout the year.

Across its international Summit series, Coliseum has built every event around three core pillars: knowledge sharing, networking and venue tours. There are no parallel sessions, no exhibition and no panel discussions. Instead, delegates benefit from practical case studies, one-to-one interviews, open discussions and extensive networking with industry peers, complemented by exclusive behind-the-scenes venue tours.

“Since launching Coliseum fifteen years ago, our objective has never changed,” said Michael Rennschmied, Founder & CEO of Coliseum. “We believe the industry learns most effectively when people openly share their experiences, discuss their challenges and build lasting business relationships. That philosophy remains at the heart of everything we do.”

Chicago in transition

Few cities in North America are currently undergoing such an extensive transformation of their sports venue landscape as Chicago. Against the backdrop of one of baseball’s most celebrated stadiums, delegates will gain valuable insights into the projects shaping the city’s future.

The programme includes updates on the Chicago Bears’ future stadium plans, Chicago Fire FC’s new stadium at The 78, the ambitious 1901 Project surrounding the United Center, and the redevelopment of Ryan Field at Northwestern University. Together, these developments illustrate how investment in sports and entertainment infrastructure continues to reshape one of America’s great sporting cities.

Major projects across the United States

Beyond Chicago, the programme expands its focus to significant venue developments from across the United States. Delegates will hear directly from industry leaders involved in projects such as the Athletics’ new ballpark in Las Vegas, the future stadium of the Kansas City Chiefs, the restoration of Tropicana Field following Hurricane Milton, and major venue modernisation projects including Crypto.com Arena and UBS Arena.

Across two days, the Summit will also explore current trends in venue operations, fan engagement, premium hospitality, sustainability, security, technology and commercial innovation, providing practical lessons that delegates can apply within their own organisations.

A global perspective

While firmly rooted in the North American market, the Coliseum Summit has always maintained a strong international dimension. This year’s programme brings together projects from around the world, allowing delegates to compare different approaches, exchange experiences and learn from developments beyond their own markets.

Among the international highlights are Calgary’s new Event Centre, River Plate’s Monumental Stadium in Buenos Aires, Singapore’s Kallang Alive sports and entertainment district, and the new AVIVA Arena in the United Kingdom. Each project reflects different approaches to stadium development, venue operations and long-term planning, while reinforcing the value of international knowledge sharing.

Reflecting another important trend across the industry, this year’s programme also places a particular focus on women’s sport, with dedicated sessions exploring purpose-built venues, elite training facilities and the infrastructure supporting the continued growth of professional women’s sport.

More than 55 speakers will contribute to the two-day programme, while delegates will benefit from over 15 hours of dedicated networking and exclusive venue tours—an integral part of the Coliseum experience since its inception.

For more than fifteen years, Coliseum has remained committed to one simple objective: bringing the stadium and arena industry together to learn, grow and do business. The 11th Coliseum Summit US continues that tradition by connecting the people, projects and ideas shaping the future of sports venues, locally, nationally and internationally.
