Plans are in the offing to bring the world’s second Sphere to Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates!

A ‘LinkedIn Post By the Department of Culture and Tourism – Abu Dhabi’ stated, “On September 15th, the Sphere Entertainment (American entertainment holding company) and the Department of Culture and Tourism – Abu Dhabi (DCT Abu Dhabi) announced that they will work together to bring the world’s second Sphere to Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates!”

“The Sphere Abu Dhabi is expected to be a landmark addition to this premier international capital City elevating the entertainment offerings for the residents and the visitors alike. Experience events, concerts and shows like never before in an unforgettable and revolutionary setting!”

The Abu Dhabi Department of Culture and Tourism is an agency of the Government of Abu Dhabi established in February 2012 by Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the United Arab Emirates (UAE) and Ruler of Abu Dhabi, to replace Abu Dhabi’s two main tourism and culture agencies – the Abu Dhabi Tourism Authority and the Abu Dhabi Authority for Culture and Heritage.

Safeer Centre

The ‘LinkedIn Post By the Department of Culture and Tourism – Abu Dhabi’ further stated, “Safeer Entertainment have announced that they will open the world’s second Safeer Centre in Abu Dhabi, the same size with a capacity to accommodate 20,000 people with an experience that redefines entertainment in the region.”

“The centre will be a major destination throughout the year reinforcing Abu Dhabi’s position as a major year-round attraction adding to the artistic and cultural offerings.”

H.E. Mohamed Khalifa Al Mubarak, Chairman of the Department of Culture and Tourism – Abu Dhabi, said, “This partnership is in line with the Abu Dhabi Tourism Strategy 2030 reinforcing the Emirate’s position as a beacon of arts, culture and innovation. We continue to embrace creative concepts that put Abu Dhabi at the center of the world’s attention and set new standards for immersive and inspiring offerings. This collaboration reflects our continued commitment to investing in partnerships that will achieve the objectives of the Abu Dhabi Tourism Strategy 2030 in line with its pillars to strengthen Abu Dhabi’s global position in the culture and tourism sectors.”

“Together with the Sphere Entertainment Company we have announced our plan to bring the world’s second Sphere to Abu Dhabi. Echoing the scale of the 20,000-capacity Sphere in Las Vegas (US), this venue promises to redefine entertainment in the region.”

“This next-generation entertainment venue will serve as a major year-round attraction building on Abu Dhabi’s reputation as a premier international destination for entertainment, sports and culture.”
