AEG Facilities, a division of Anschutz Entertainment Group (AEG), is all set to manage and operate Argentina’s under-construction Buenos Aires Arena, according to a Business Wire report.

AEG, the world’s leading sports and live entertainment company, was selected by Buenos Aires S.A., a company that is controlled by Argentina’s major media firm La Nación, to undertake the management of the new arena.

The 16,000-seat state-of–the-art venue which is expected to open in mid-2019, will host 100 events annually including concerts, festivals, family shows, corporate and special events.

As per the agreement between the two, AEG Facilities will be responsible for all the arena’s operations from hiring and training full time staff, event management, organising pre-opening functions, planning and execution of the grand opening ceremony, to management of the various departments such as event operations, premium seating sales, booking, ticketing, security, guest services, marketing, public relations, finance and human resources.

Luis Saguier, Director of La Nación said, “We are thrilled to partner with AEG, the leading arena owner and operator in the world, in our new state of the art venue in Buenos Aires. We believe AEG is the right operator for our arena and that together we will bring outstanding quality entertainment experiences to Buenos Aires.”

“Buenos Aires is one of the leading entertainment and sport markets in the world and now it will be serviced by a world-class venue,” said Chuck Steedman, Chief Operating Officer, AEG Facilities.

AEG will oversee the project from its regional headquarters in Sao Paolo, Brazil, led by Venancio Castro, Executive Director, AEG LatAm. Additional resources will be provided by AEG Facilities. Buenos Aires Arena is the second multi-purpose arena in South America to be added in the company’s portfolio, with Antel Arena in Motevideo, Uruguay being the first to open later in 2018.
