Africa Cup of Nations 2025 venues named

The Confédération Africaine de Football (CAF) has announced the host cities and match schedule for the TotalEnergies CAF Africa Cup of Nations, Morocco 2025.

CAF Online said tournament will see nine venues used across six cities for the continent’s greatest football show.

There will be 52 matches over 29 days in a feast of football for fans that showcases the skill and passion of African football.

The host cities are Rabat, Casablanca, Agadir, Marrakech, Fes and Tangier. Rabat will have four match venues, with other host cities Casablanca, Agadir, Marrakech, Fes and Tangier to have one each. The venues are:

Rabat: 69,500 Complexe Sportif Prince Moulay Abdellah

Rabat: 18,000 capacity Stade Al Barid

Rabat: 21,000 capacity Olympique Annexe Complexe Sportif Prince Moulay Abdellah

Rabat: 22,000 capacity Complexe Sportif Prince Héritier Moulay EL Hassan

Casablanca: 45,000 capacity Complexe Sportif Mohammed V

Agadir: 41,144 capacity Grand Stade d’Agadir

Marrakech: 41,245 capacity Grand Stade de Marrakech

Fes: the 35,468 capacity Complexe Sportif de Fès

Tangier: 76,500 capacity Grand Stade de Tanger

Morocco and Comoros will kick-off the tournament on 21 December, 2025 with a Group A fixture at the newly-built Complexe Sportif Prince Moulay Abdellah in Rabat, a fitting stage for the grand opening.

The final will also be played at the Complexe Sportif Prince Moulay Abdellah on 18 January, 2026

The four quarter-final fixtures will be played at the Sportif Prince Moulay Abdellah in Rabat, as well as in Tangier, Marrakech and Agadir.

The semi-finals will be in Rabat and Tangier, with the third-place play-off set for the Stade Mohammed V in Casablanca.

The Africa Cup of Nations referred to as AFCON, and sometimes as African Cup of Nations, is the main international men’s association football competition in Africa. It is sanctioned by the CAF and was first held in 1957.

The 2025 tournament in Morocco was supposed to take place in mid-year but was moved because of FIFA’s new expanded Club World Cup with 32 teams in the United States in June and July this year.
