Valencia Arena operating company Image: Licampa 1617

Licampa 1617 S.L., Juan Roig´s holding company, specifically shaped to build a sustainable arena in València, Spain, and The Music Republic on behalf of Arena Alive S.L., have joined forces to form ‘València 5 Estrellas S.L.’, a company set to run Casal España Arena de València, an international-stature indoor venue under construction for sporting, cultural and entertainment events. The new company will develop partnership strategies cooperating with sector specialists.

Arena of València is an international concept that encompasses the venues, pavilions and covered stadia that are specifically designed to host top class sporting, musical or cultural events, offering huge visibility and accommodating a large number of spectators, and will be located in València, Spain. To this end, Spanish billionaire businessman Juan Roig will invest over €220 million to gift València with an arena in a purely philanthropic initiative.

With a capacity of up to 18,600 spectators in concert format and 15,600 spectators in basket format, the new arena will be the largest in Spain, with space for over 3,000 fans more than Madrid’s WiZink Center. Construction began on Casal España Arena de València, funded by €220m in public-private investment, earlier this year. Casal España Arena de València is projected to open in 2023.

The Music Republic is a company which focuses on the production and organization of shows and events of all kinds, concerts, congresses, conferences and public events in general, for professionals and companies and institutions, public or private. It will manage the arena alongside Juan Roig, whose Licampa 1617 holding company is leading the project, through a new operating company, València 5 Estrellas.

València 5 Estrellas S.L. will be the operating company. It will take over the mantle of managing the venue and the facilities which will be on offer in the future apart from overseeing agreements with promoters, service suppliers and other stakeholders. The new company will formulate strategies to ensure that Casal España Arena de València is in a position to hold as many big-ticket events thus providing an enthralling experience to the audience and establishing both València and Comunitat Valenciana as the ultimate destination for entertainment.

The company’s main focus will be on providing a platform where local as well as international sports or entertainment events, regardless of their nature or format, can be held keeping the sustainability quotient high.

Víctor Sendra, CEO of Licampa 1617 S.L., welcomed the collaboration, “A significant milestone has been reached on this project. It allows us to move forward in the management of the venue alongside partners that are highly specialized in the organization and creation of musical and entertainment experiences, and in bringing top level references to Comunitat Valenciana. In addition, we share the same vision regarding the future of Casal España Arena de València. We have a long way to go and we are very excited to create a team that will help us succeed with a project that is so important for València and for which Juan Roig’s patronage is fully committed.”

The Music Republic set up the company Arena Alive S.L., exclusively to join hands with Licampa 1617 S.L., and operate in harmony the venue.

David Sánchez, CEO, The Music Republic, noted, “It is a great opportunity for València and Spain, which will soon be able to boast an arena of such magnitude and designed to host all kinds of cultural, sports and corporate events. València will be able to host many events that could not be accommodated to date due to the lack of equipped and specialized spaces. We are very pleased and grateful for contributing in the management of this great project together with Licampa 1617 S.L., as part of Juan Roig´s patronage. With everyone´s effort we believe that we will be able to turn the venue into a point of reference”.

The project foresees the construction of an underground and a high-rise car park with approximately 1,300 spaces, the annexed construction of the new València Basket Club´s headquarters, a multipurpose hall of 1,200 square meters, catering areas, and a wide range of locations, terraces and premium areas. Moreover, the construction of supplementary infrastructure is planned to revitalize the neighborhood, such as a new and modern space for ‘Les Arts’ school, whose rehabilitation works began in mid-November, and a public park with verdant space.
