The leading venue management company ASM Global (US) and the neutral host providers company Boldyn Networks (Boldyn) (UK) recently announced a partnership expansion to provide 5G, next-generation Wi-Fi and private networks at their properties.

‘boldyn NETWORKS’ stated that with more than 350 venues worldwide, the ASM Global’s premium portfolio ranges from brand- new, state-of-the-art stadiums, a historic 100-year-old coliseum as well as convention centers and entertainment districts – each with their own unique attendee offerings and connectivity considerations. Boldyn’s neutral host distributed antenna system (DAS), Wi-Fi and the private network solutions will enable critical ubiquitous 5G connectivity throughout the ASM venues, ensuring a fast and reliable experience for the sports and entertainment fans, the conference attendees, vendors, and the operational staff.

Los Angeles (US)-based ASM Global is a leading global producer of entertainment experiences. It is a global leader in venue and event strategy and management – delivering locally tailored solutions and cutting-edge technologies to achieve maximum results for the venue owners. The company’s elite venue network spans five continents with a portfolio of more than 350 of the world’s most prestigious arenas, stadiums, convention, and exhibition centers, and performing arts venues.

London (UK)-based Boldyn Networks unlock the power of an interconnected future building shared communications infrastructure that enables new possibilities for connected transit, venues, enterprise, next-generation networks, and Smart Cities. Made up of innovative, bold and dynamic thinkers from six companies, it is one of the largest neutral host providers in the world. With operations spanning the United States, United Kingdom, Ireland, Italy, and Hong Kong, the company’s comprehensive solution set and portfolio empower its customers to transform the way people live, work and play.

Maintained Jason Oberlander, Chief Commercial Officer of ASM Global, “Together with Boldyn, we’ve set the new standard for venue connectivity. Whether sharing social content in realtime, enabling in-seat ordering or engaging with augmented reality (AR)/virtual reality (VR) activations, connectivity is transforming the guest experience. Our partnership expansion which now leverages their full portfolio of next-generation solutions ensures that the conference attendees and vendors can optimize their presence through seamless, robust connectivity. This was an easy and obvious choice.”

Augmented reality (AR) is an interactive experience that combines the real world and the computer-generated content. The content can span multiple sensory modalities, including visual, auditory, haptic, somatosensory and olfactory.

Virtual reality (VR) is a simulated experience that employs 3D near-eye displays and poses tracking to give the user an immersive feel of a virtual world. The applications of virtual reality include entertainment, education and business. VR is one of the key technologies in the reality-virtuality continuum.

‘boldyn NETWORKS’ further stated that Boldyn’s public and private network solutions unlock a wealth of new capabilities for the visitors, the property owners and the vendors. Their network solutions connect mobile point-of-sale (POS) devices, ticketing, digital screens, energy management systems, interactive installments, back-of-house operations, among other features. Boldyn’s private 5G networks and Wi-Fi are essential for enhanced security and to control devices such as locks, cameras and the alert systems – all these capabilities and more will now be available to the ASM Global-managed properties.

Commented Christos Karmis, head honcho of Boldyn’s US business, “As the pre-eminent venue and live experience company, the team at ASM Global have a clear vision on how to deliver extraordinary experiences to the visitors and guests, as well as best-in-class venue management. Both the ASM Global and the Boldyn Networks share the same commitment to innovation which is what makes this partnership so special. We are excited to bring our industry-leading expertise of designing and operating high-speed communications infrastructure to redefine experiences for the guests, the fans and the convention attendees and also leveraging the latest wireless technology to streamline connectivity behind all aspects of the venue operations.”

This new multiyear deal marks a new chapter in the longstanding partnership, building on the work thus far to make the ASM Global venues among the most technologically advanced in the world. The Boldyn and ASM Global have already collaborated on iconic venues around the world, such as Puerto Rico’s (a Caribbean island and an unincorporated US territory) the 18,500-capacity Coliséo de Puerto Rico José Miguel Agrelot in San Juan, the United Kingdom’s 13,781-capacity First Direct Arena in Leeds, England, Italy’s 5,800-capacity Cantù Arena in Cantù, and other marquee US venues, including the 3,418-capacity Cowtown Coliseum in Fort Worth, Texas, the 20,000-capacity Desert Diamond Arena in Glendale, Arizona, the 10,000-capacity Puerto Rico Convention Center in San Juan, and many others.
