Coliseum GSVA is looking for an experienced and detail oriented Editorial & Copy Editor to oversee the quality, consistency and presentation of our editorial content.

The role combines editorial writing, rewriting, editing and copy editing. The successful candidate will review content created internally, refine and restructure articles where required, and ensure all published content meets the professional standards, tone and editorial style of Coliseum GSVA.

Key Responsibilities

Editorial & Content Editing

• Review and edit articles and other editorial content created by the Coliseum GSVA team.
• Rewrite and restructure content where necessary to improve clarity, flow, readability and overall quality.
• Ensure all content reflects the professional tone, voice and editorial standards of Coliseum GSVA.
• Work closely with the internal team to develop content into clear, engaging and publication ready articles.
• Edit headlines, introductions, captions and other supporting editorial content.
• Ensure consistency in terminology, names, titles, organisations, venues and industry specific language.
• Maintain consistency across all Coliseum GSVA editorial platforms and communications.

Copy Editing & Proofreading

• Proofread all content before publication.
• Correct grammar, spelling, punctuation and sentence structure.
• Identify and improve awkward, unclear or repetitive wording.
• Check consistency in style, formatting, terminology and language.
• Review content carefully for typographical and editorial errors.
• Ensure the final version is polished, accurate and ready for publication.

Writing

• Write original articles and editorial content when required.
• Develop content from interviews, announcements, industry information and internal material.
• Adapt existing information into engaging and professionally written editorial pieces while maintaining factual accuracy.

Editorial Standards

The Editorial & Copy Editor will help maintain and further develop the Coliseum GSVA editorial style and standards, ensuring that content published under the Coliseum GSVA name is consistent, professional and recognisable across all platforms.

The role requires a strong understanding of written English, excellent attention to detail and the ability to preserve the original meaning and factual information while significantly improving the presentation and readability of the content.

Key Skills & Experience

• Excellent written and spoken English.
• Proven experience in editing, copy editing, journalism, content writing or a similar editorial role.
• Exceptional grammar, spelling and proofreading skills.
• Strong ability to rewrite and restructure written content.
• Excellent attention to detail.
• Strong understanding of tone, style, readability and editorial consistency.
• Ability to work independently and meet deadlines.
• Experience working with business, sports, events or industry related content is an advantage.
• Ability to work with a wide range of subject matter and adapt writing style accordingly.
