Coliseum Summit ASIA - Venue Tour

This year’s Coliseum Summit ASIA stadium conference will be held in the Chinese capital of Beijing on November 22-23, 2016. The summit gains additional significance in the backdrop of China emerging as one of the most promising stadium venues markets, not only in Asia, but in the world. Having hosted the summer Olympics in 2008 (Beijing) and Asian Games in 2010 (Guanzhou), China has already bagged the rights to host the winter Olympics (Beijing) and Asian Games (Hangzhou) both in 2022.

In keeping with the tradition of Coliseum Summits, a key attraction of the event in Beijing will be the special venue tours of two landmark stadiums that would offer a behind-the-scene glimpse into the workings of the unique facilities.

Tour 1 – Beijing National Stadium (Bird’s Nest)

The first venue tour will be held after the conference sessions on day one (Nov 22) at 5 pm. It will take the delegates to the iconic Beijing National Stadium, popularly known as the Bird’s Nest due to its distinctive design. The stadium was designed for use throughout the 2008 Summer Olympics and Paralympics and will be used again in the 2022 Winter Olympics and Paralympics. The stadium is currently used mostly for football matches.

Due to limited space available, the tour will be offered free to 50 Coliseum delegates on first come first serve basis.

Tour 2 – LeSports Center

The second venue tour will held at the conclusion of session on the second day (Nov 23) at 4 pm. The chosen site is the LeSports Center, originally Beijing Wukesong Culture & Sports Center. The noted indoor arena hosted the 2008 Summer Olympics baskeball preliminaries and finals. After the Olympic Games, the center become an important part of Beijing’s Olympic Games heritage, allowing citizens to enjoy cultural, sports, leisure, recreational and commercial activities.

Due to limited space available, the tour will be offered free to 30 Coliseum delegates on first come first serve basis.
