Coliseum – a top name in international stadium conferences – is making a comeback to the UAE this year with its flagship Coliseum Summit MENA 2018 scheduled to be held at the Yas Marina Circuit in Abu Dhabi’s Yas Island on Sept. 19-20.

The Abu Dhabi summit is geared to meet the demands of the stadium and arena business in the UAE and the larger MENA region. The summit will bring together over 30 top international names in the sports venues business as speakers and 200 delegates from around the world under a single roof at the Conference Center of Yas Marina Circuit.

Miral Asset Management, the developers of Yas Island, have extended full support for the Coliseum Summit. The summit will include a special session by speakers on the new Yas Arena and the overall Yas Island development project.

The UAE in recent times has seen a phenomenal growth in the sports venue sector with landmark projects such as Yas Arena and Dubai Arena in the pipeline making global headlines. Besides a number of other stadiums are undergoing upgrades as the UAE prepares itself for three major sporting events – the FIFA Club World Cup in December this year, the AFC Asian Cup in January 2019 and the Special Olympics World Games in March 2019.

Similarly, the area of entertainment venues has witnessed a massive surge in the UAE with several new ventures at the Yas Island, Dubai Entertainment, Meydan One, Dubai & Harbour Project drawing huge international interest.

Coliseum is excited to return to the UAE, which has seen rapid development in the sports and entertainment venue sector with the emergence of a diverse range of new and exciting venues,” said Michael Rennschmied, the Founder and CEO of Coliseum.

“The Coliseum Summit MENA will offer a great opportunity to these mega venues to learn from each other in terms of experience (parking, food & beverage), ticketing, security etc. Owing to the similarities between entertainment and sports venues, both sectors can learn and benefit from each other,” he added.

Coliseum is looking to establish itself as the center point of expertise and talent within the sports and entertainment venue industry.

The summit will see participation from top UAE entertainment venues and entities including Warner Bros World Abu Dhabi, Yas Arena, International Cricket Council, Flash Entertainment, Dubai Opera, as well as from international players such as Arena Corinthians (Brazil), IL&FS India and the University of Michigan.

It is important to note that Flash Entertainment is part of the local organizing committee for the forthcoming FIFA Club World Cup as well as the AFC Asian Cup in the UAE.

Conceived and executed by the MJR Group, Coliseum is dedicated towards building the best global community of sports venue executives and professionals. With a current network of 72,000 peers, we call ourselves the ‘Coliseum Community’. The Coliseum platform consists of 5 stadium and arena conferences each year (Europe, US, Latin America, Asia and Middle East), daily updates about sports venue development around the world and strategic guidance and consultancy for our partners.
