The University of Arkansas’ agreement with the CommunityAmerica Credit Union, which includes renaming the Donald W. Reynolds Razorback Stadium in Fayetteville, Arkansas (US) is the largest deal of its kind in college football.

‘nwahomepage.com’ stated that the agreement between the two parties is worth a total of $70 million over 13 years, or $5.4 million a year.

Competitive Advantage

The deal was announced on June 24th by the University of Arkansas Athletic Director Hunter Yurachek. However, he opted not to release specifics of the deal citing competitive advantage as the reason – “We truly believe that’s a competitive advantage for us to hold those numbers internal. We’ve done that with the field naming rights, we’ve done that with the jersey patches, done that with this. Because we don’t want to put a tentpole up there and show what the market is, we want to continue to be able to grow our revenue streams.”

The University of Arkansas (U of A, UArk, or UA) is a public land-grant research university in Fayetteville, Arkansas, United States.

Kansas (US)-based the CommunityAmerica Credit Union go beyond banking to help people shine. As a not-for-profit, member-owned credit union, they are focused on people over profits offering personalized financial solutions that empower the individuals and the businesses to thrive. From everyday banking to long-term planning they support one’s goals with checking, savings, loans, credit cards, investments, insurance, and financial guidance.

The 76,000-seat Donald W. Reynolds Razorback Stadium is an American football stadium in Fayetteville, Arkansas (US) and serves as the home field of the University of Arkansas Razorbacks football team since its opening in 1938.

‘nwahomepage.com’ further stated that the average annual value of the University of Arizona’s deal with the CommunityAmerica Credit Union is around 20 percent larger than the next largest stadium naming agreement in college football. The University of Southern California’s agreement with the major American airline United Airlines, which was announced in 2019, has an average annual value of $4.3 million.

On the reason for the unconventional agreement length of 13 years, Yurachek said it really “comes down to dollars and cents and really what they were comfortable spending and how that broke down year by year”.
