Enea to ‘energize’ Lech Poznań home

Enea, a leading concern in the energy market in Poland, has acquired the naming rights of the Poznań Stadium in Poznań, Poland. From now on the Poznań Stadium will be known as the Enea Stadion for the next four years.

‘Lech Poznań’ stated that the Enea Stadion is one of the largest sports arenas in Poland. The pride of Poland, the Polish professional football club Lech Poznań, play their home games at the above arena.

Enea is a Polish power industry company based in Poznań, Poland. Enea is the fourth largest energy group in Poland. As of December 2017, its share in the domestic electricity sales market was 13 percent. Enea supplies energy to over 2.7 million customers.

For years, Enea has been strongly involved in supporting sport and promoting an active lifestyle. The company is the title sponsor of volleyball and basketball teams in North-Western Poland. It also supports the triathlon showcase events in the country. It is also a sponsor of the Polish Olympic Committee and the Polish Olympic Team.

For several years now, the Enea Group has also been running the Enea Academy of Sport project, which aims to promote a healthy and active lifestyle among the youth. It actively supports the development of sporting disciplines at the amateur and school level for children and youth, including as part of the Lech Poznań Academy. The project covers schools and sports clubs from the Enea Operator distribution area. It gives children a chance to develop their sporting talents shepherded by qualified experts and professionals.

The Enea Stadion is an association football stadium in the Grunwald district of Poznań, Poland. It has a capacity of 43,269. The stadium was originally built between 1968 and 1980.

The Lech Poznań is a Polish professional football club based in Poznań and currently competing in the Ekstraklasa, the top Polish professional league for men’s association football teams. The Enea Stadion serves as their home ground.

‘Lech Poznań’ quoted Dariusz Szymczak, Vice-President of Corporate Affairs, Enea, as stating, “The Enea Stadion is the pride of Poznań. It is one of the most recognizable buildings in the City. Enea consistently builds its brand and the energy major is proactively involved in the development of amateur and professional sports. Since promoting sporting activities is Enea’s second nature, so we knew it was in the best interests of all to lend our naming rights to a sports facility which is a kind of crowning glory for Poland.”

Remarked Rafał Wrzeszcz, President of the Management Board of Stadion Poznań sp. z o. o., “Enea landing the naming rights of the Lech Poznań home ground is a matter of great pride for us and I hope the deal struck will be the beginning of a long, fruitful partnership between the energy giant and the top-flight.

In the first half of this year, the stadium was visited by almost 300,000 fans, with an impressive average of nearly 25,000 people per match.
