Wayfinding app makes life easier for F1 fans in Las Vegas Image: F1

The Formula 1 Heineken Silver Las Vegas Grand Prix (US) recently announced that the F1 Las Vegas mobile application presented by T-Mobile and built in partnership with YinzCam, Inc., is now available to download on iOS and Android-based devices.

‘Formula 1’ stated that the app functions as a one-stop-shop for attendees to access everything they need during the race weekend, including schedules, wayfinding, tickets, video content, team/driver information, merchandise, and more.

The Formula 1 Heineken Silver Las Vegas Grand Prix is a Formula One Grand Prix that will take place in Las Vegas, Nevada (US) from November 16th-18th, 2023. The race will be held on a temporary street circuit that includes the Las Vegas Strip. The start and finish lines will be located at the new Paddock building on the corner of Harmon Avenue and Koval Lane.

The race will be the first of its kind as the track will take over Las Vegas Boulevard. Drivers will reach speeds of over 210 mph (340 kph) as they race around some of the world’s most iconic landmarks, hotels and casinos on the Las Vegas Strip. The race will be part of the 2023 Formula One World Championship.

London (UK)-based Formula One is the highest class of international racing for open-wheel single-seater formula racing cars sanctioned by the Fédération Internationale de l’Automobile (FIA). The FIA Formula One World Championship has been one of the premier forms of racing around the world since its inaugural season in 1950.

Paris (France)-based the Fédération Internationale de l’Automobile (FIA) is an association established on June 20th, 1904 to represent the interests of motoring organizations and motor car users. It is the governing body for many auto racing events, including Formula One. The FIA also promotes road safety around the world.

The 2023 FIA Formula One World Championship is a motor racing championship for Formula One cars, which is the 74th running of the Formula One World Championship. It is recognized by the Fédération Internationale de l’Automobile (FIA), the governing body of international motorsport, as the highest class of competition for open-wheel racing cars. The championship is contested over 22 Grands Prix held around the world. It began in March and will end in November.

Washington (US)-based T-Mobile is an American wireless network operator that offers wireless services, voice, text messaging, and data services, along with mobile phones and accessories. It’s partly owned by the German telecommunications company Deutsche Telekom, which has a 43.2 percent share. As of April 2023, Deutsche Telekom AG holds a 51.4 percent majority stake in the company.

Pittsburgh (US)-based YinzCam is an American software company that builds mobile applications, Internet Protocol Television (IPTV) platforms and augmented-reality (AR) experiences. It specializes in creating applications for the professional sports organizations.

Augmented reality (AR) is an interactive experience that combines the real world with computer-generated content. AR uses software, apps and hardware such as AR glasses to overlay digital content onto real-life environments and objects.

F1 Las Vegas App

‘Formula 1’ further stated that the F1 Las Vegas app includes innovative wayfinding technology enabling easy navigation of the circuit and its surrounding areas. The interactive maps will guide fans to the entry points and seating areas tied to their ticket and accessibility needs. Directions can be updated in realtime based on trackside conditions to help avoid congestion.
 

The app includes the following features:

  • Wayfinding: Built-in 3D mapping and smart navigation developed by the privileged access management (PAM) allows for easy movement around all the fantastic experiences on offer during the race weekend, including fan zones, entertainment, food and beverage (F&B), hotels, and partner properties. The app’s interactive map gives users guided directions with realtime updates;
  • Account Manager: The app is directly integrated with Ticketmaster (one of the premier booking and ticketing service providers for the arts and entertainment industry), so the attendees can access their tickets directly from the app and purchase, sell and transfer tickets seamlessly;
  • 360° Track View Powered by T-Mobile 5G: In the week leading up to the race, T-Mobile will give the fans a first look at the circuit with an interactive driving experience with 360° high-definition views captured via 5G-connected cameras. Every single turn of the track can be paused and explored by the fans using spherical video controls, ensuring they do not miss a single detail;
  • T-Mobile Customer Perks: The T-Mobile customers will have select perks within the F1 Las Vegas app, including priority access all race weekend long to Club Magenta, the ultimate VIP lounge located within the T-Mobile Zone at Sphere offering premium views of the track and the T-Mobile Stage with charging stations, private bars, live event feeds, and more. Fans can stay tuned for updates throughout the race weekend in the app; and
  • Partner Perks: The FORMULA 1 HEINEKEN SILVER LAS VEGAS GRAND PRIX hotel and hospitality partners will be offering deals and promotions within the official app. Attendees can get access to discounts on food and beverage (F&B) offerings at the neighboring hotel properties, gift-with-purchase items and other exciting moments around the circuit.
