The Qatar Stars League (QSL) announced on July 19th that the Lusail Stadium, the largest stadium of the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022™, will host the match of Qatari sports club Al-Arabi SC and the Qatari multisports club Al-Rayyan SC in the QNB Stars League for the 2022-2023 seasons.

‘Gulf Times’ stated that on its official Twitter page, QSL said that Al-Arabi versus Al-Rayyan match in Week 2 has been rescheduled to August 11th at the Lusail World Cup stadium.

The Qatar Stars League, or the QSL, also called QNB Stars League for sponsorship reasons, is the top level football league in Qatar football league system. Contested by 12 teams, it operates on a system of promotion and relegation with the Qatari Second Division. Seasons of the QSL usually run from September to April.

The Al-Arabi Sports Club is a Qatari sports club based in Doha. Founded in 1952, the most prominent team of the club is the football team that competes in the Qatar Stars League. The club’s home ground is the 13,000-seat Grand Hamad Stadium, where they have played since their establishment.

The Al-Rayyan Sports Club is a Qatari multisports club fielding teams in a number of sports such as football, futsal, basketball, volleyball, handball, athletics, table tennis, and swimming. It is based at the Ahmed bin Ali Stadium in Umm Al Afaei in the City of Al Rayyan.

The 80,000-capacity Lusail Stadium is a football stadium in Lusail, Qatar. The stadium will host the final game of the 2022 FIFA World Cup™.

The 2022 FIFA World Cup™ is scheduled to be the 22nd running of the FIFA World Cup™ competition, the quadrennial international men’s football championship contested by the senior national teams of the member- associations of FIFA. It is scheduled to take place in Qatar from November 21st to December 18th, 2022.

‘Gulf Times’ further stated that the match will be the first official match at the 80,000-seat stadium.

The Lusail Stadium will host the final match of the World Cup on December 18th which coincides with the Qatar National Day, along with six matches in the group stage and three matches in the knockout rounds, including one of the two semi-finals.
