Lytle Architects to shepherd Isthmian League

The Lytle Associates Architects recently announced that they have signed a partnership with The Isthmian League (UK) to become their ‘Stadium Design Consultants’.

‘fsm-online.co.uk’ stated that the above opportunity will enable the firm to inform the football clubs as to how they can improve and update their facilities and grounds in line with the current The Football Association (FA) Ground Grading Criteria. The Lytle Associates Architects will do the same by assisting with the feasibility studies, the planning applications, the funding bids, and unlocking the land potential.

Guildford (UK)-based the Lytle Associates Architects was established in 1987 and is now a well-known and respected Architects’ studio. The firm’s aim is to provide a professional response to their clients’ needs whilst retaining personal involvement, attention to detail and a genuine appreciation for all aspects of good design. The design studio’s approach is never prescriptive, instead they offer the benefit of their ideas, imagination and experience all of which are extensive. They also take the time to understand their clients’ business, understand their priorities and reflect these in their designs.

England (UK)-based The Isthmian League is a regional football league covering Greater London, East and South East England (UK) featuring mostly semi-professional clubs. Founded in 1905 by the amateur clubs it now consists of 88 teams across four divisions covering Tiers 7 and 8 of the football league system.

London (UK)-based The Football Association or The FA is the governing body of association football in England (UK) and the Crown Dependencies of Jersey, Guernsey and the Isle of Man. Formed in 1863, it is the oldest football association in the world and is responsible for overseeing all aspects of the amateur and professional game in its territory.

The Football Association (FA) Ground Grading Criteria refers to a set of standards that a football stadium must meet based on its level of competition including factors like the pitch quality, the spectator capacity, the boundary fencing, the toilet facilities, and the overall safety features which are used to determine if a ground is suitable for matches at a specific level within the English football league system.

‘fsm-online.co.uk’ further stated that the Lytle Associates Architects takes pride in the fact that this is the first time that the League has entered into a partnership with a Lead Architect.

We have seen the work which the Lytle Associates Architects prepared for the Farnham Town Football Club (a semi-professional football club based in Farnham, Surrey, England) and wanted to make their services available to all our clubs.”

Acknowledging how much their design team enjoyed helping the Farnham Town Football Club unlock its potential, the Director of the Lytle Associates Architects Richard Wilkinson believes that in this new partnership “we can do so much for the clubs in the Isthmian League who want to progress and develop their grounds. As well as the design of the facilities we can also assist with obtaining planning permission and support the clubs in their funding applications”.
