After 10 years of being known as the Qudos Bank Arena (New South Wales, Australia) the Homebush live venue has officially been renamed the Afterpay Arena in what is a five-year partnership and the doors opened on July 23rd.

The Afterpay Arena is Sydney’s ‘must-play’ arena and will provide the fans an absorbing experience.

‘RollingStone’ stated that the news was made official at a presser held at the venue and graced by the Afterpay Co-Founder Anthony Eisen. The Federal Shadow Assistant Minister for the Digital Economy Simon Kennedy, the Afterpay Vice-President (VP) Asia-Pacific (APAC), Mike Ryan and the Legends Global Chief Operating Officer (COO) (Asia Pacific and Middle East) Peter Loxton, were also on hand to help cut the ribbon.

The 21,032-seat Sydney SuperDome, currently known as the Afterpay Arena under a naming rights deal, is a multipurpose arena in Sydney Olympic Park, New South Wales, Australia. It was completed in 1999 as part of the facilities for the 2000 Summer Olympics.

The Afterpay Limited (abbreviated as Afterpay) is an Australian technology company (based in Melbourne) and a buy now, pay later (BNPL) lender. Founded in 2014 by Nick Molnar and Anthony Eisen it is now owned by Block, Inc. As of 2023, Afterpay serves 24 million users, processes US$27.3 billion in annual payments and ranks among the three most-used BNPL services globally.

Ticket Purchases

‘RollingStone’ further stated that the fans attending the events at the Afterpay Arena can split ticket purchases across four interest-free installments via Afterpay Pay in 4 and tap to pay with Afterpay across food, beverage and merch inside the venue which has also undergone months of internal redesign.

Moments Matter

Said Eisen, “Afterpay now has a permanent home in the place where the fans come for the moments that matter most to them. We’ve built everything here around keeping fans in the moment – from the way they buy their ticket to the last song of the night.”

Exalted Fan Experience

Added Loxton, “This partnership isn’t just a name on a building. By working closely with Afterpay we improve the fan experience along multiple touchpoints. That’s exactly the kind of engaged partner we want beside us for the next five years. The Afterpay Arena is already Sydney’s ‘must-play’ arena and the investment into the bars, the foyer and the technology – with one of the world’s largest transparent holographic light-emitting diode (LED) installations adds to crafting unforgettable live experiences at this Ticketek Entertainment Group venue.”

The Ticketek Entertainment Group (TEG) is a major global live entertainment and ticketing company headquartered in Sydney, Australia. It operates as the parent company of Ticketek (a major event ticketing company based in Sydney) managing live touring, the sporting events, the digital data analytics, and the venue management across multiple countries.

The upcoming shows at the Afterpay Arena include Tame Impala (Australian musical group), 5 Seconds of Summer (Australian pop rock band), Noah Kahan (American singer-songwriter), Olivia Dean (English singer-songwriter), and Hilary Duff (American actor-singer-songwriter).
