Motor-racing fans will get a close-up view of the action at the Spa-Francorchamps circuit in Belgium thanks to a new premium trackside hotel that’s under development.

Spa-Francorchamps Circuit said “Escapade Spa-Francorchamps,” being developed in partnership with Escapade a British company specializing in hotel development projects, includes the creation of a 68-room hotel located in the Eau Rouge building, at the foot of one of motorsport’s most iconic corners, the Raidillon.

The architectural design of the project has been entrusted to Gensler, one of the world’s leading architecture firms.

The architectural inspiration draws on the track layout, the topography, and the natural Ardennes setting. The volumes and lines evoke the movement and fluidity of the circuit, while the materials have been chosen to harmonize with the surrounding forest: wood, local stone, textured plaster, and metal elements, designed to evolve naturally with the seasons.

This new offering will provide world-class hospitality, designed to support the sporting, commercial, and cultural activities of the Spa-Francorchamps Circuit throughout the year.

In addition, six independent residences, with 23 additional rooms, will be built at La Source, the iconic hairpin bend adjacent to the straight that marks both the start and finish of the circuit.

Fully managed as part of Escapade Spa-Francorchamps, these rooms were designed to complement the hotel offerings developed at Eau Rouge.

The 70,000-capacity Spa-Francorchamps Circuit, frequently referred to as Spa, is a 7.004 km motor-racing circuit located in Stavelot, Belgium. It is the current venue of the Formula One Belgian Grand Prix, which hosted its first Grand Prix in 1925 and has held a Grand Prix every year since 1985.

The new project combines accommodation, wellness facilities, and modular event spaces to welcome teams, partners, guests, and organizers throughout the year. These two key locations at the Circuit will be transformed by this ambitious project.

In addition to the rooms and villas located near the most iconic corners of this Ardennes rollercoaster, new reception areas with unparalleled views will further enhance the Spa-Francorchamps Circuit’s offerings.

A bar and a gourmet restaurant overlooking the Raidillon corner will further solidify the Circuit’s position as a tourist and business destination.

This new offering introduces upscale trackside hospitality, a completely new experience at Spa-Francorchamps. It will include:

  • premium rooms and residences,
  • a new dining experience,
  • wellness and fitness facilities,
  • a concierge service,
  • event spaces, and
  • services tailored to teams, partners, organizers, companies, and visitors.

Designed to operate year-round, the project will enhance the Circuit’s capacity to host sporting, commercial, event, and tourism activities well beyond major race weekends and key events.

In addition to the hospitality offering, “Escapade Spa-Francorchamps” plans to develop economic and tourism activities 365 days a year, further strengthening the Spa-Francorchamps Circuit as a destination and reinforcing its status as an economic engine for the entire region.

While 2026 and 2027 will be dedicated to obtaining permits and construction, “Escapade Spa-Francorchamps” will open its doors in 2028.

Historic investment

With over €30 million in private investment, “Escapade Spa-Francorchamps” represents the largest investment ever made in the history of the Spa-Francorchamps Circuit, as well as the most ambitious project undertaken on the site.

Amaury Bertholomé, CEO of the Spa-Francorchamps Circuit, said, “This project embodies the Spa-Francorchamps Circuit’s corporate strategy. I am particularly excited to see this vision materialize through such a structuring and ambitious project.

“Beyond the aesthetics and quality of the project, Escapade’s offer was also the one that invested the most and offered the best return for the Circuit—the largest and most guaranteed.”
