The Major League Baseball (MLB) team Kansas City Royals (US) are surveying fans about the team’s future, including potential sites for a new ballpark.

‘www.kansascity.com’ stated that the organization announced recently through a release that it will ask fans for feedback about the team, the gameday experience, television broadcasts, and the Royals’ next home.

The Kansas City Royals are an American professional baseball team based in Kansas City, Missouri (US). The Royals compete in Major League Baseball (MLB) as a member club of the American League (AL) Central Division. The 37,903-capacity Kauffman Stadium serves as their home venue.

‘www.kansascity.com’ further stated that the release said the survey is part of “ongoing conversation with the fans aimed at optimizing their experiences in and out of the ballpark” and that fans who participate will help shape the team’s future on and off the field. The survey will include asking about potential sites for a new ballpark and the surrounding development, including in or near downtown Kansas City, Clay County/North Kansas City and Johnson County/Overland Park.

Informed John Sherman, Royals Chairman and head honcho, “We are constantly engaging with and listening to our fans. Their feedback is a crucial part of how we present our games in person or through television and other media. Their voices will also play an important and meaningful role as we determine where we play games for the next 50 years. We’re grateful for their support and help.”

A Royals spokesperson said the fans will be able to share input online through an email they will receive and could also participate over the phone. Fans contacted will include the season ticket holders and those who have bought and attended a certain number of games in recent seasons. The Royals have said they will not play in their current home at Kauffman Stadium in Eastern Kansas City after the lease is up following the 2030 season.

Intrigue continues to swirl about where a future ballpark and the associated new development could go after the Jackson County voters rejected a sales tax in 2024 that would have helped fund a site in the Crossroads. Both Kansas and Missouri have offers on the table that could help fund a future ballpark in the respective states.

The Kansas City and Missouri officials have pushed for a site on Washington Square Park near Crown Center while the possibility of a park on the Aspiria campus in Overland Park has emerged as an issue in the November 4th local elections. The North Kansas City officials have said that discussions about a stadium there are “substantial”.
