The 2025 Saudi Super Cup (Saudi Arabia) (the annual Super Cup tournament in Saudi Arabian football) will deliver two high-stakes Semifinals as the draw placed the Saudi Pro League team Al Nassr FC against its peer team Al-Ittihad while the defending champions the Saudi Pro League team Al Hilal FC face their ambitious peer team – the Al Qadsiah FC.

‘Saudi Gazette’ stated that the tournament will be held in Hong Kong from August 19th-23rd marking a continued push by the Saudi Arabian Football Federation (SAFF) to globalize its domestic competitions and expand the international footprint of Saudi football.

Riyadh (Saudi Arabia)-based the Saudi Pro League (SPL), also known as the Roshn Saudi League (RSL) for sponsorship reasons, is a professional association football league in Saudi Arabia and the highest level of the Saudi football league system. The SPL is regarded as the premier football league in Asia.

Riyadh (Saudi Arabia)-based the Saudi Arabian Football Federation (SAFF) is the football governing body of Saudi Arabia. Founded in 1956, its responsibilities include administration of the club competitions and the national teams. The Founder of the Federation is Prince Abdullah bin Faisal.

‘Saudi Gazette’ further stated that the draw, conducted without seedings or restrictions, produced a pair of classic encounters expected to capture widespread attention across Asia.

The Al Hilal FC holds the record for the most Super Cup titles while the Al Qadsiah aims to make a memorable debut on the big stage.

The Al Nassr FC and the Al-Ittihad, both rich in history, are eager to start the season with silverware.

Hosting the event in Hong Kong aligns with the SAFF’s strategic vision of taking key tournaments abroad to forge international partnerships and bolster the Kingdom’s sports economy.

The initiative is led by the SMC Group which has been working to link the international entities with Saudi Arabia’s fast-growing sports market.

All the matches will be played at the 40,000-seat Hong Kong Stadium, a historic venue originally built in 1953 and renovated in 1994. It also serves as the home ground of the Hong Kong national football team.
