Serie A opens Abu Dhabi office Image: Serie A

The Lega Serie A (Italy) continues its expansion in the world and lands in the Middle East. After the opening of its prestigious office in New York (US), Italian Lega Serie A is set to open its first office in the Middle East in Abu Dhabi (UAE), with the January 2023 launch of the affiliate Lega Serie A Mena FZ-LLC.

‘legaseriea.it’ stated that the office in Abu Dhabi, capital of the United Arab Emirates (UAE), will oversee the entire MENA Region (Middle East and North Africa) and will be led by Alfonso De Stefano, an expert Manager with over 20 years of experience both in the regional sports media industry (in the Abu Dhabi Sports Council [ADSC] and Abu Dhabi Media [ADM]), and internationally at Infront and Aser Media. (De Stefano will lead the Abu Dhabi office coordinating with the Lega Serie A marketing and commercial office, defining common strategies for developing the soccer brand).

The Italian for National Professionals League Serie A, commonly known as LNPA or Lega Serie A (Serie A League), is the governing body that runs the major professional football competitions in Italy, most prominently the Serie A. It was founded on July 1st, 2010.

The Serie A, also called Serie A TIM for national sponsorship with TIM, is a professional league competition for football clubs located at the top of the Italian football league system and the winner is awarded the Scudetto and the Coppa Campioni d’Italia.

Affirmed Luigi De Siervo, Lega Serie A head honcho, “We are very happy to carry forward our project of global expansion for the ‘Calcio’ product and of facing new challenges that represent fundamental steps for the Italian soccer internationalization. With this in mind, we have chosen Alfonso De Stefano who will be responsible for leading the Serie A expansion in the MENA area, as well as coordinating the development of the Serie A #We are Calcio brand and facilitating the development of networking and pushing cooperations in the Middle East.”

Added De Siervo, “With our presence and with the opening of the new office, we set ourselves the goal of being closer to historic fans and supporters in a strategic market such as the Middle East and at the same time we intend to promote a healthy education for the new generations to the values of sport, engaging them on and off the pitch through an exciting digital experience. We are also developing entertainment initiatives for fans through the localization of Lega Serie A events with presence of teams, players and legends. Thanks to our regional broadcasters’ partners, Abu Dhabi Media and Starzplay, we will bring Calcio close to the fans for a unique and immersive experience. We are convinced, thanks to the diffusion of our product in these areas, in the future many young talents from the Middle East will have the chance to play regularly in Serie A.”

‘legaseriea.it’ further stated that in the occasion of the launch of the new Lega Serie A headquarters in the Middle East on November 17th, a meeting with the media was held at the Dubai Sports Council during the International Sports Conference. A conference attended by Francesco Totti, Lega Serie A Ambassador, Michele Ciccarese, Commercial and Marketing Director Lega Serie A, and Alfonso De Stefano, Managing Director, Lega Serie A Mena.
