The Pittsburgh Steelers are a professional American football team based in Pittsburgh (Pennsylvania, US). The Steelers compete in the National Football League (NFL) as a member of the American Football Conference North Division. Founded in 1933, the Steelers are the seventh-oldest franchise in the NFL and the oldest franchise in the AFC. The 68,400-capacity Acrisure Stadium in Pittsburgh serves as their residence.

The 82,300-capacity Croke Park is a Gaelic games stadium in Dublin, Ireland. ‘msn’ further stated that Dublin will be one of the three new Cities to host regular season games next season with fixtures in Madrid (Spain) and Berlin (Germany) previously announced.

The February 7th announcement comes two days after the NFL said there will be a game in Melbourne, Australia, in 2026.

Remarked Dan Rooney Jr, Pittsburgh Steeler Director of Business Development and Strategy, “The Steelers are excited and honored to play in the NFL’s first ever regular season game in Ireland. The Rooney family has deep ties to the island having emigrated from there in the 1800s eventually settling in Pittsburgh, PA, where my great grandfather went on and found our franchise in 1933. We’re excited to represent our hometown of Pittsburgh internationally and play in front of a growing number of Steelers fans abroad. The above announcement builds off our deep connections to the island and charts a path forward to what we feel is a very exciting future for the Steelers in Ireland.”
