FC Barcelona launches memorabilia project Image: FC Barcelona

The LaLiga club FC Barcelona (Spain) has presented a collection titled ‘FULL OF HISTORY. FULL OF FUTURE’ which gives fans the chance to keep their own piece of history in the form of objects collected from the old stadium of all kinds and for all budgets.

‘FC Barcelona’ stated that so many memories of the Barça home – the Spotify Camp Nou in Barcelona, Spain – will be kept forever in Culers (supporters of FC Barcelona) hearts… 5-0 defeats of the LaLiga club Real Madrid CF, a sextuple and the ‘Dream Team’. From László Kubala (Hungarian footballer who played as a forward for the Barça) to Johan Cruyff (Dutch professional football player and Manager who played for the Barça), Pep Guardiola (Spanish football Manager who starred as a defensive midfielder for FC Barcelona), and Lionel Messi (Argentine footballer who spent his entire professional career with FC Barcelona until leaving the club in 2021). But now it’s time to move on to a new era, and as the pieces of the old stadium come down to make way for the new, it’s also a chance for the supporters to take their own keepsakes to pass on down the generations.

In November 2010, FC Barcelona replaced Real Madrid CF at the top of LaLiga with a scintillating 5-0 rout of their great rivals at the former’s home – the then Camp Nou.

The FC Barcelona is the only football club to have ever achieved a ‘sextuple’, six trophies during the 2008-2009 seasons (Copa Del Rey, LaLiga, Champions League, Supercopa de Espana, the Union of European Football Associations (UEFA) Super Cup, and the FIFA Club World Cup™).

The FC Barcelona was called the ‘Dream Team’ because they played fantastic attacking football. Times and again, the teams felt a sense of helplessness playing against them. They would keep the ball, pass it around and carve open the Oppositions’ defense at ease.

Futbol Club Barcelona, commonly referred to as Barcelona and colloquially known as Barça, is a professional football club based in Barcelona, Catalonia, Spain, that competes in LaLiga, the top flight of Spanish football.

The under-renovation Camp Nou, branded as the Spotify Camp Nou for sponsorship reasons, is the home of the LaLiga club FC Barcelona since its completion in 1957. With a current seating capacity of 99,354, it is the stadium with the largest capacity in Spain and Europe, and the fifth largest football stadium in the world.

Since the Barça residence the Spotify Camp Nou is undergoing major renovation, the FC Barcelona is playing at the Estadi Olímpic Lluís Companys in Barcelona, Spain. The club will play all of its home matches at this location for the 2023-2024 seasons.

The 55,926-capacity Estadi Olímpic Lluís Companys is a stadium in Barcelona, Catalonia, Spain. Originally built in 1927 for the 1929 International Exposition in the City, it was renovated in 1989 to be the main stadium for the 1992 Summer Olympics and the 1992 Summer Paralympics.

‘FC Barcelona’ further stated that all products from the Spotify Camp Nou have been identified before a notary to safeguard their authenticity.

Variety of Products

Seats from Spotify Camp Nou

The collection includes the seats from the old Spotify Camp Nou that has been made available to the season ticket holders for two weeks from October 26th. From November 14th-27th, the non season ticket holding members will also be able to order seats, after which they will go on sale to the general public.

All seats have been carefully marked, meaning that the season ticket holders can buy their very own seats, the ones from which they have watched so many games over the years.

Three different designs are available and go on sale from €99. Shortly, the club will be holding a delivery event for all those people who have decided to take home their own piece of FC Barcelona history.

Turf and Nets from Spotify Camp Nou

The Barça members can also buy a piece of the original turf from the pitch, either on wood, methacrylate or inside a scale model of the Spotify Camp Nou. The original sections of the goal nets, each numbered and framed in wood, can also be purchased.

Diamonds

For the first time ever, fans can also buy ethical, sustainable diamonds made from the carbon in the soil from the last ever game at the stadium against their peer team the RCD Mallorca on May 28th, 2023.

The carbon is prepared for crystallization using the very latest technology together with renewable energy to produce sustainable, environmentally-friendly pieces. They all come with a certificate of authenticity detailing the source of the carbon, the characteristics of the diamond and certification of the series.

This includes 0.50 carat diamonds, 0.10 carat ensigns and bracelets and necklaces, selling from €499.

All FC Barcelona diamonds include a non-fungible token (NFT) in order to authenticate their traceability via blockchain, and like all the other products can only be purchased at Barça Stores or online from www.store.fcbarcelona.com

A non-fungible token (NFT) is a unique digital identifier that is recorded on a blockchain, and is used to certify ownership and authenticity. It cannot be copied, substituted, or subdivided. The ownership of an NFT is recorded in the blockchain and can be transferred by the owner, allowing the NFTs to be sold and traded.

A blockchain is a digital ledger that records transactions across many computers. It’s a distributed database that maintains a continuously growing list of ordered records, called blocks. Each block contains a cryptographic hash of the previous block, a timestamp and transaction data.
