Toronto to host NHL showcase in 2024

Mitch Marner enjoyed the sun and sand at this year’s National Hockey League (NHL) All-Star festivities held on February 4^th at the 20,737-capacity FLA Live Arena in Sunrise, Florida (US), the home of the NHL team Florida Panthers.

‘CBC Sports’ stated that the NHL team Toronto Maple Leafs (Canada) winger Mitch Marner will need his Winter coat if he makes the cut next year.

NHL Commissioner Gary Bettman announced on February 4^th that the League’s 2024 showcase will be played in Toronto for the ninth time.

“Going to be a little colder than here,” Marner said before taking the ice for the Atlantic Division in South Florida (US).

Added Marner, “It’s gonna be fun.”

‘CBC Sports’ further stated that the skills competition will be held on February 2^nd, 2024 with the All-Star Game the following day at the Scotiabank Arena.

The 18,800-capacity Scotiabank Arena, formerly known as the Air Canada Centre (ACC), is a multipurpose arena located on Bay Street in the South Core district of Downtown Toronto, Ontario, Canada. It is the home of the Toronto Raptors of the National Basketball Association (NBA) and the Toronto Maple Leafs of the National Hockey League (NHL).

Shanahan played in the All-Star Game the last time it was held in Toronto back in 2000.

Marner was just short of his third birthday.

Recounted Shanahan, “I asked Mitch how old he was for that one and he was quite young. He didn’t remember, so I lied to him and told him I won the car – wasn’t true. I remember the excitement and the buzz in the City. Any time that you’re in Toronto for a hockey game – especially something like the All-Star Game – you can feel the excitement.”

Maintained Marner, “The City’s gonna be loving this. We’re gonna be getting all the best players in the world in the same place at one time. Just seeing how the NBA All-Star Game was, I’m sure the NHL one’s gonna be even bigger. Fans are gonna love it.”
