UFC Shanghai - Mercedes-Benz Arena

The Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) is set to make its mainland China debut at the Mercedes-Benz Arena in Shanghai on November 25, 2017. The General Tire-sponsored event is titled UFC Fight Night Shanhai.

Although the mixed martial arts organization is yet to reveal the exact details of the live event, the tickets for the series’ inaugural China event went on sale from August 1.

According to media reports, the UFC will stage a series of events to enable fans in Shanghai and a host of other cities to meet with UFC athletes. Current UFC featherweight champion Max Holloway will take part in the first of these special events from August 3-4.

Opened in April 2010, Shanghai’s Mercedes-Benz Arena has a capacity of 18,000 and has been used to stage a host of major sports and live entertainment events, including pre-season games for North America’s NBA basketball league and various high-profile music concerts.

The American mixed martial arts organization UFC was represented by its speaker at Coliseum Summit AMERICAS held in Las Vegas, Nevada in April this year.

More details on UFC’s Shanghai event is expected at the next Coliseum Summit ASIA-PACIFIC, October 25-26, 2017 in Beijing, China.
