Venue ace pull the strings of Germany arena

Forty-one-year-old Düsseldorf-born Laura Becker has been appointed as the General Manager of Merkur Spiel-Arena (Germany) from October 1^st, 2021.

The ‘Opera News’ stated that in her present role, Becker will be responsible for the management of the said arena, the largest of the five venues of Düsseldorf (Germany)-based D.LIVE group of venues.

The Merkur Spiel-Arena is a multifunctional football stadium in Düsseldorf, Germany. The stadium holds 54,600 spectators and has a retractable roof. Its special heating system allows the stadium to keep spectators warm even when it is bone-chilling cold during winter.

D.LIVE comprises the 54,000-seat Merkur Spiel-Arena, home of Bundesliga football club Fortuna Düsseldorf, the 13,000-capacity, multipurpose ISS Dome (indoor arena in Düsseldorf, Germany), the 7,500-seat Mitsubishi Electric Hall (indoor arena in Düsseldorf, Germany), the Alltours Kino movie theater in Düsseldorf, and the 3,000-seat Castello Düsseldorf (function room facility in Düsseldorf, Germany).

The ‘Opera News’ further stated that she will also be responsible for successful holding of various events to be held in the Merkur Spiel-Arena and work in close collaboration with the arena’s various partners, organizers and customers.

Before Becker joined the D.LIVE fold, she worked for Klüh Multiservices for 11 years, most recently as a Project Manager for the introduction of a Germany-wide customer relationship management (CRM) system. Becker was responsible for bringing sponsorships and marketing of the METRO Marathon Düsseldorf.

At D.LIVE, she was previously in charge of managing safety issues of venues, among other things, and played a key role in the implementation of the D.LIVE concept when COVID-19 had the whole world in its fatal grip.

The Düsseldorf Marathon is an annual road marathon held in Düsseldorf, Germany, in early May, first held in 2003. The generally flat course runs through parts of the City and alongside the banks of the Rhine River. The race day also includes other events, such as a marathon road relay, and over 10,000 people participate annually.
