The Video Music Awards are returning to Prudential Center in Newark, New Jersey (US) for the first time since 2019, as the home of the National Hockey League (NHL) team New Jersey Devils will be spotlighted across MTV’s global footprint of linear and digital platforms.

The ‘Arena Digest’ stated that the Video Music Awards is one of the flashiest events on the award-show calendar. They’re scheduled for August 28th, 2022.

The MTV Video Music Awards is an award show presented by the cable channel MTV to honor the best in the music video medium.

The 19,500-capacity Prudential Center is a multipurpose indoor arena in the central business district of Newark, New Jersey, United States. It has been designed by HOK Sport, with the exterior designed by Morris Adjmi Architects.

The ‘Arena Digest’ quoted Bruce Gillmer, President of Music, Music Talent, Programing and Events, Paramount and Chief Content Officer, Music, Paramount+, as stating, “We are thrilled to be back in New Jersey for this year’s VMAs live from Prudential Center. Said Sean Saadeh, Executive Vice-President (EVP) of Entertainment, Prudential Center, “After an extremely successful event in 2019, we are very excited for the VMAs to return to New Jersey’s ‘Town Hall’ for entertainment.
