New $27-mn stadium to be built in UAE’s Fujairah

Sheikh Mohammed bin Hamad bin Mohammed Al Sharqi, Crown Prince of Fujairah, an emirate of the United Arab Emirates (UAE), has signed a contract for the construction of the Dibba Sports Club Stadium.

The agreement with the Fuj Singh International Company to build the sports facility at a cost of about AED100 million ($27 million) was inked as per the directives of Sheikh Hamad bin Mohammed Al Sharqi, Ruler of Fujairah, UAE’s state news agency WAM reported.

The project includes the construction of vital sporting facilities to international standards, according to the report.

Sheikh Mohammed said that the construction of the stadium is one of the emirate’s key projects and represents progress in providing basic services. He added that it also aims to support the emirate’s sporting movement, as well as encourage excellence and success.

More details on the project is expected to be revealed at Coliseum Summit MENA, Abu Dhabi in September 2019.
