Hospitality upgrades delayed at Ibrox Park

The Rangers Football Club has come up with an ambitious plan to upgrade its hospitality lounges to be completed ahead of the club’s 150th anniversary season in 2021-22.

The Rangers Football Club is a Scottish professional football club based in the Govan district of Glasgow in UK, which plays in the Scottish Premiership. Although not its official name, the club is often referred to as Glasgow Rangers.

The Scottish Premiership, known for sponsorship reasons as the Ladbrokes Premiership, is the top division of the Scottish Professional Football League (SPFL), the league competition for men’s professional football clubs in Scotland (UK) are 12 teams in this division, with each team playing 38 matches per season.

However, the revamp works have been rescheduled from Summer 2020 to Summer 2021 due to the restrictions in place for the rapidly spreading COVID-19. The refurbishment work will form a key part of the wider project 2022 upgrades being developed at Ibrox Stadium. Further plans on the Project 2022 strategy will be communicated during the year.

Rangers’ home ground, Ibrox Stadium, which was designed by renowned stadia architect Archibald Leitch and opened in 1929, is a Category B listed building and the third largest football stadium in Scotland. The club has played in royal blue shirts for the entirety of its history.

The Blue Sky Lounge sets a new standard for sports hospitality in Scotland and will offer one of the finest sweeping pitch views in European football stretching the length of the Sandy Jardine stand with an increased capacity of premium seats and with theater style live cooking – chefs at the job with elan.

Presently Bar 72, Club 72 will retain its celebratory theme from the famous 1972 European Cup Winners Cup victory in Barcelona, whilst revolutionizing the lounges into modern sports bars, with a contemporary casual dining experience, alongside avant-garde screens and technology.

Both new lounges will be available initially to the existing corporate clients of Argyle House Suite and the Bar 72 season ticket holders in the form of Founding Member packages and will thereafter open for general enquiries later in the year.
