Australian venues keen to hire new staff Image: AFL

A section of the sports venue sector is slowly trying to come back on its feet after suffering the catastrophic effects of COVID-19 for a year since the deadly virus broke out in March 2020.

In this regard, major venues in Australia have also started recruiting:

 

Optus Stadium

  • Coordinator, Staffing Services

VenuesLive for Optus Stadium is seeking applications from suitable candidates for the post of Coordinator, Staffing Services.

‘Venue Jobs’ stated that the job role would require reporting to the Manager, Staffing Operations and Services. The Coordinator, Staffing Services will form part of the Staffing Operations and Services team and will play an important role in establishing the Perth Stadium team and supporting the culture for the VenuesLive business.

Applications close on April 19th, 2021. Shortlisting for this position will commence immediately and the position may close earlier than stated if a suitable candidate is found.

The 75,000-capacity Perth Stadium, also known by naming rights sponsorship as Optus Stadium, is a multipurpose stadium in Perth, Western Australia, located in the suburb of Burswood. It was completed in late 2017 and officially opened on January 21st, 2018.
 

  • Software Developer

‘Optus Stadium’ stated that he or she will have to play a vital role in building and maintaining software solutions at Optus Stadium.

Applications close on April 30th, 2021. Shortlisting for this position will commence immediately and the position may close earlier than stated if a suitable candidate is found.

VenuesLive Management Services NSW Pty Ltd (VenuesLive) proudly manages Stadium Australia in Sydney Olympic Park and Bankwest Stadium in Parramatta, as the exclusive venue operator and catering services provider. VenuesLive also provides catering services at other sports and entertainment venues in the Sydney Metropolitan area and in Wollongong and Newcastle.
 

  • Senior Asset Operations Coordinator (Senior Facilities Coordinator)

‘VenuesLive’ stated that reporting to the General Manager Asset Management, the Senior Asset Operations Coordinator will be in charge of coordinating the operational activities of the Asset Management team including the day to day operation of building systems, oversees contractor activities and compliance, assist with the planning and execution of capital works projects and manage utility providers.

He or she will have to show the willingness to work flexible hours in line with the requirements of Stadium Australia and Bankwest Stadium’s event schedules.

The last date for submission of applications is April 14th, 2021.

 

McDonald Jones Stadium

  • Casual Talent Pool

‘VenuesLive’ stated that the McDonald Jones Stadium Catering team is responsible for the setup and delivery of food and beverage services in the venues Private Suites, Open Corporate Reserves and Function Rooms on event days and for non-event day functions and conferences as well as all retail catering on event days.

The following positions are vacant in the catering team:

  • Food and Beverage Supervisors;
  • Chefs;
  • Function and Restaurant Waiters;
  • Retail Food Attendants;
  • Bar Attendants;
  • Distribution Team; and
  • Baristas.

There is no last date for receipt of applications.

The 33,000-capacity Newcastle International Sports Centre, known as McDonald Jones Stadium for sponsorship reasons, is a multipurpose sports stadium located in Newcastle, Australia. It is owned by the New South Wales Government and is administered by Venues NSW.

 

WIN Stadium – WOLLONGONG

  • Food and Beverage Positions | Functions Team

‘VenuesLive’ is seeking applications from interested parties to join its Casual Team for the following positions:

  • Function and Restaurant Waiters;
  • Function Bar Staff;
  • Suite Attendants;
  • Box Attendants; and
  • Baristas.

Experience is not essential as on the job training will be provided to successful applicants.
