England stadia full force from July 19^th

Sports stadia across England are set to return to full strength from July 19^th after the British Government announced the next stage in easing of the COVID-19 restrictions in an announcement made by the UK Prime Minister, Boris Johnson, on July 5^th.

‘Reuters’ stated that the proposal, which will be voted upon on July 12^th, would lift all remaining restrictions in the country.

British Prime Minister Boris Johnson has outlined plans to formally end all coronavirus restrictions in place in the United Kingdom even as the nation is experiencing a surge in new cases from the highly transmissible Delta variant.

‘Reuters’ further stated that while social distancing and mandatory face coverings will be scrapped, British Prime Minister Boris Johnson said some venues may choose to make use of the National Health Service (NHS) vaccine passport service for entry.

Johnson told a presser on July 5^th, “From Step Four we will remove all legal limits on the numbers meeting indoors and outdoors. We will allow all businesses to reopen, including nightclubs, we will lift the limit on named visitors to care homes and the number of people attending concerts, theater and sports events.”

The above move means there could be full houses for the start of the new Premier League season commencing on August 13^th. The 2021–2022 Premier League will be the 30^th season of the Premier League, the top English professional league for association football clubs since its establishment in 1992. It will start on August 13^th and will end on May 22^nd, 2022.

The National Health Service (NHS) is the umbrella term for the publicly-funded healthcare systems of the United Kingdom. Since 1948, they have been funded out of general taxation.

Hope floats that it will be stadia in full force for England’s five-Test cricket series against India starting on August 4^th, as well as at the Glorious Goodwood horse racing festival at the end of this month.

Goodwood Racecourse is a horse-racing track five miles North of Chichester, West Sussex, in England controlled by the family of the Duke of Richmond, whose seat is nearby Goodwood House. Glorious Goodwood meeting in late July and early August, which is one of the highlights of the British flat racing calendar, and is home to three of the UK’s 36 annual Group 1 flat races, the Sussex Stakes, the Goodwood Cup and the Nassau Stakes. Although the race meeting has become known as ‘Glorious Goodwood’, it is sponsored by Qatar and officially called the ‘Qatar Goodwood Festival’.

Crowds have either been kept out entirely or allowed in limited numbers since the COVID-19 pandemic hit the UK hard in March 2020 and took a heavy toll on lives.

Test events with higher attendances have been held in recent months as part of a Government pilot program.

As part of the pilots, Wimbledon has been allowed to have capacity crowds.
