Premier League club West Ham United is delighted to be able to welcome the return of full 60,000 crowds to London Stadium (UK) from the start of the 2021-2022 seasons.

The ‘West Ham United’ stated that following the announcement from Prime Minister Boris Johnson on July 5^th that majority of COVID-19 restrictions – including those on crowd sizes at live sport events – would be lifted from July 19^th in the United Kingdom, ‘The Hammers’ will be playing in front of a capacity crowd at London Stadium very soon, with ‘The Hammers’ hosting Leicester City F.C. in their home Premier League opener on August 23^rd.

The 2021-2022 Premier League will be the 30^th season of the Premier League, the top English professional league for association football clubs since its establishment in 1992. It will start on August 14^th, 2021 and will conclude on May 22^nd, 2022.

The ‘West Ham United’ further stated that having played in front of 10,000 noisy and passionate members of the Claret & Blue Army for the 2020-2021 season finale against Southampton F.C. – when Pablo Fornals (Spanish footballer who plays for West Ham United) scored twice and Declan Rice (English professional footballer who plays as a defensive midfielder or center-back for Premier League club West Ham United) added another in a memorable 3-0 win to secure Union of European Football Associations (UEFA) Europa League football – ‘The Hammers’ are waiting to experience the roar of a packed stadium once again.

Last season was a truly unforgettable one as David Moyes’ (Manager of West Ham United) men secured a club-record 65 Premier League points, finished sixth in the table and qualified for European football – but the stadium atmosphere and excitement elements were missing without fans in attendance due to the COVID-19 outbreak in 2020 and the deadly virus continues to bleed the world.

‘The Hammers’ skipper Mark Noble is thrilled to bits over the prospect of hearing 60,000 ‘Hammers’ sing Bubbles once more – “I was at Wembley for the England-Germany game recently (Euro 2020) and hearing that atmosphere made me think when we can have 60,000 back – the 10,000 we had back for the Southampton F.C. game was pretty special – would be fantastic.”

Added Noble, “I got a bit emotional at that game against Southampton F.C. thinking I’m not going to have many more of these as a player. So it’s going to be lovely to have the fans back, and we are going to need them too.”

The West Ham United stated that as the United Kingdom move towards a Government decision on Step 4 of the roadmap and beyond, it will continue to work with the Premier League, football stakeholders and relevant public authorities to ensure that the return to full capacity is done in a way that keeps everyone safe.

‘The Hammers’ fans can look ahead to the new campaign with renewed hope and optimism as the club look to build on the fantastic foundations of last term.

The club’s loyal season ticket holders have renewed their seats in record numbers.
