Designs for Dundee’s (City in Scotland) stunning state-of-the-art, 4,000-seat esport arena has been unveiled.

The ‘Daily Record’ stated that the space-age building is due to be completed on the waterfront by 2024.

When it is delivered, it will become one of the world’s leading digital and online gaming hubs.

The ‘Daily Record’ further stated that the Northern Lights Arena Europe – or NLAE as it will be known – will be home to some of the world’s top gamers.

It will also provide local education facilities, promote lifelong skills and boost digital fluency.

NLAE bosses say they will work in partnership with Abertay University (public university in Dundee, Scotland) and Dundee & Angus College (college in Dundee, Scotland) to “build on their first-class gaming curriculum to create an immersive revolutionary esports experience through the integration of state-of-the-art classrooms, professional arena operations and esports teams.”

The arena will be Europe’s first truly digital-enabled arena space and a flagship project for Dundee alongside the Eden project and V&A Scotland.

Lord Michael Grade, Chairman, NLAE, enthused, “We are very excited to be able to share new concept images of our proposed arena at the Dundee waterfront. As well as creating jobs and boosting the local tourism industry, the arena would create a world-class experience for e-sports fans, both in Dundee and virtually.”

Added Lord Grade, “Education is at the heart of our mission at NLAE, and we are so pleased to be partnering with Abertay University to build on their already well-established gaming curriculum, in order to provide lifelong skills and digital fluency to students in Dundee.”
