Naming rights are coming to the Glass Bowl Stadium in Toledo, Ohio, US.

‘THE BLADE’ stated that the University of Toledo announced recently that the Athletic Department has entered into a partnership with the Oak View Group (OVG) to secure a strategic naming rights partner for the 86-year-old football stadium.

The 26,038-capacity Glass Bowl is a stadium in Toledo, Ohio, US. It is primarily used for American football, and is the home field of the American football team of the University of Toledo Rockets. It is located on the school’s Bancroft campus, just South of the banks of the Ottawa River.

The University of Toledo is a public research university in Toledo, Ohio, US. It is the Northernmost campus of the University System of Ohio.

The OVG Oak View Group, LLC is an American Global Advisory, Development and Investment Company for Sports and Live Entertainment industries. Based in Los Angeles, it was formed on November 16th, 2015 by Tim Leiweke and his business partner, Irving Azoff. Leiweke is the company’s Chief Executive Officer (CEO).

‘THE BLADE’ further stated that Oak View Group’s Global Partnership division, which will spearhead the search for the Glass Bowl’s naming rights, has secured 19 naming rights partners totaling more than $3 billion. The venues include the 74,295-capacity Caesars Superdome in New Orleans, Louisiana, the 17,255-capacity UBS Arena in Elmont, New York, and the 18,300-capacity Climate Pledge Arena in Seattle, Washington.

Remarked W. David Livingston, Vice-President of OVG Global Partnerships, “We are going to help The University of Toledo – and its student-athletes, students, faculty, and alumni – find a naming rights partner who understands and values the Glass Bowl’s rich history, its significance to the community and the opportunity to renew and re-energize an iconic college venue.”

The Glass Bowl has been home to the University of Toledo football since 1937. The stadium has a seating capacity of over 26,000, including 45 private suites and 300 premium club seats, and hosts upward of 50 events and over 150,000 visitors annually.
