The Serie A club Udinese Calcio (Italy) have announced a new name for their stadium, which changes from the Dacia Arena to the Bluenergy Stadium as part of a new partnership deal.

‘Football Italia’ stated that this is one of the very few stadiums in Italy owned and run by the club, who took on a 99-year lease from the local Council in 2013.

The Udinese Calcio, commonly referred to as Udinese, is a professional Italian football club based in Udine, Friuli-Venezia Giulia (Italy), which currently competes in the Serie A, the top of the Italian football league system. It was founded on November 30th, 1896 as a sports club, and on July 5th, 1911 as a football club.

The Stadio Friuli, which for sponsorship reasons is also known as the Dacia Arena, is an all-seater football stadium in Udine, Italy, and the home of the Serie A club Udinese. The stadium was built in 1976 and has a capacity of 25,144. It was one of the venues for the 1990 World Cup.

‘Football Italia’ further stated that from 2016 to 2023, it was called the Dacia Arena, but that sponsorship contract ran out in June 2023.

As of today, it will be known as the Bluenergy Stadium and the deal is believed to be worth circa €1m per season for five years.

The club is already in a partnership with the Bluenergy Group, installing various elements to make the stadium ecologically sustainable.

The Bluenergy Group is a team of leading low-carbon energy professionals with global experience, each with a track record of individual success. They understand how oil and gas companies work and how they can lead the Energy Transition.

The Udinese have been named the most sustainable club in Italy and the fourth best in the world.
