Australian Open entertainment extravaganza

Australian Open 2025 is set to serve up an unforgettable three weeks in January. It will be held from January 12^th-26^th, 2025.

‘tennis’ stated that some fascinating emerging on-court rivalries are the headline acts and have tennis fans across the globe salivating in anticipation.

The Australian Open is a tennis tournament organized by Tennis Australia annually at the Melbourne Park in Melbourne, Victoria, Australia. It is chronologically the first of the four Grand Slam tennis events every year held before the French Open, Wimbledon and the US Open.

The Melbourne Park is a sports venue in the Melbourne Sports and Entertainment Precinct in Melbourne, Victoria, Australia. Since 1988, the Melbourne Park has been home of the Australian Open Grand Slam tennis tournament played annually in January. The Park has multiple venues where the Australian Open matches take place. The Rod Laver Arena is the largest venue with a capacity of 15,000 while the John Cain Arena seats 10,500 and the Margaret Court Arena 7,500. The three venues feature retractable roofs allowing events to be played indoors or outdoors. Besides, there is the Show Court 3 and the 1573 Arena which both has a 3,000 seating capacity and the new 5,000-seat Kia Arena (opened in 2022). In total, there are 35 outdoor Greenset tennis courts at the Melbourne Park.

Melbourne (Australia)-based Tennis Australia Limited is the governing body for tennis in Australia. It is owned by the Australian States and territories. The association organizes national and international tennis tournaments including the Australian Open.

‘tennis’ further stated that but as well as the thrills of world-class tennis, plans unveiled for next year’s 120th anniversary event include an epic fusion of music, entertainment and innovative new experiences to delight fans of all ages.

Tiley explained that a focus of Australian Open 2025 was designing more ways for the fans to get closer to the action.

Added Tiley, “The Village – between the Kia Arena and the John Cain Arena with new-look shaded viewing platforms and fun bars and snacks close by is where one can catch the very top players in practice. We look forward to announcing a stellar legends field in another Grand Slam first where we’re introducing a wheelchair qualifying event, there will be a new junior wheelchair tournament and much more. The off-court attractions include the creation of TOPCOURT, a world-first immersive experience where tennis, culture, digital media, and gaming collide, the most diverse culinary options yet, a range of stunning premium experiences, an expanded music lineup, and a ramped-up Opening Week. We are fortunate to have wonderful partnerships with an ever-growing list of incredible global brands. They truly help us to bring the event to life year after year.”

The Australian Open 2025 three-week tennis and entertainment extravaganza includes:

• TOPCOURT, a vibrant new precinct in Middle Terrace at Birrarung Marr (City park in Melbourne) is another Grand Slam first. Bringing the vibe for the next generation of tennis and entertainment fans it will feature live music and DJs, a public Padel Court, retail pop-ups, and a host of the latest gaming setups. The ultimate hangout spot to chill with friends, TOPCOURT will be the place to gather, shop and show off your fit at the Australian Open 2025;
• COURTSIDE BAR, after being one of the most popular spots to take in the tennis and grab a drink at the Australian Open 2024, the two-story Courtside Bar will return. With increased capacity, enhanced tennis viewing, an intimate rooftop bar and delicious bar menu, its set to be one of the hottest spots on site;
• INCREASED SHADE, there will be almost twice as much shade across Melbourne Park than at the Australian Open 2024 and three times as much shade than just five years ago. This includes a new shade structure over the seating bowl of the 1573 Arena and 300 square meters of shade in the food and beverage (F&B) areas;
• THE AO LIVE will bring big-name headline acts – including Benson Boone (American singer-songwriter), Kaytranada (Canadian music producer and rapper), Kesha (American singer-songwriter), and Armand Van Helden (American DJ and record producer) – to the finals along with more music across the precinct for the entire three weeks of the event; and
• THE VILLAGE, nestled between the John Cain Arena and the Kia Arena, offers fans an up-close view of the world’s top players as they practice and gear up for the Grand Slam glory. With new shaded viewing platforms and an expanded selection of food and bar options, it’s the perfect spot to relax and catch all the action.
