KC2026 has appointed Kyle Postell as the Director of Safety and Security for FIFA World Cup 26™ Kansas City (US).

‘kansascityfwc26.com’ stated that Postell brings more than 13 years of experience with the U.S. Secret Service to the role having led critical infrastructure protection efforts, conducted comprehensive vulnerability assessments and managed large-scale security operations for high-profile events including the United Nations General Assembly. In addition, Postell has specialized experience in cybersecurity and explosives detection further enhancing his ability to safeguard the upcoming global event.

A nonprofit organization overseeing strategy and delivering Host City duties for FIFA World Cup 26™, KC2026 will plan, construct and implement all aspects of Kansas City’s largest sports and fan engagement event in the region’s history. Kansas City was officially named a FIFA World Cup 2026 Host City.

The 2026 FIFA World Cup, marketed as FIFA World Cup 26™, will be the 23rd FIFA World Cup™, the quadrennial international men’s soccer championship contested by the national teams of the member associations of FIFA. The tournament will take place from June 11th-July 19th, 2026. It will be jointly hosted by 16 Cities in three North American countries and the majority of matches will take place in the United States while Canada and Mexico will host the selected matches. The tournament will be the first hosted by three nations and the first North American World Cup since 1994.

Washington, D.C.-based the United States Secret Service (USSS or Secret Service) is a Federal law enforcement agency under the Department of Homeland Security tasked with conducting criminal investigations and providing protection to the US political leaders, their families and the visiting heads of the State, or the Government.

His expertise in safeguarding critical infrastructure and his proven ability to collaborate with the local, State and Federal agencies for more than 175 events will be vital to delivering a safe, seamless and best-in-class event.”

‘kansascityfwc26.com’ further stated that Postell’s hiring follows the appointment of several key positions recently including the Director of Operations Lindsey Douglas, the Director of Fan Festival and Events Mallory Cage, the Director of Marketing Matt Smith, and the Social Media and Content Manager Kateri Hartman. Postell joined the staff in December.
