Alinma Bank put name on King Abdullah Stadium

The Saudi Arabia-based bank Alinma has landed the naming rights of the Al-Jawhara Stadium (also known as the King Abdullah Sports City Stadium) in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, marking a significant partnership in Saudi Arabian football.

The venue will now be known as the Alinma Stadium following a deal finalized in Riyadh (Saudi Arabia) between the Alinma Bank and the Ministry of Sports. The above deal will run until 2029. The financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.

‘The Ministry of Sport (Kingdom of Saudi Arabia) Post on X’ stated, “H.E. Vice-Minister of Sport Bader Alkadi and the Alinma Bank Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Abdullah Al-Khalifa signed the naming rights investment agreement for the King Abdullah Sports City Stadium in Jeddah.”

The Ministry of Sport stated that the entire exercise to find a naming rights partner for the historic facility was a multistep process and the applications submitted by the companies were all sieved through.

Riyadh (Saudi Arabia)-based the Alinma Bank is a Saudi Arabian Islamic bank that offers financial services like loans, savings accounts and credit cards. It’s one of the biggest banks in Saudi Arabia.

The 63,079-capacity King Abdullah Sports City Stadium (also known as the Al-Jawhara Stadium) is a multiuse stadium and Sports City located 30 kilometers North of Jeddah, Saudi Arabia.

The above move highlights the growing commercial investment in Saudi sports infrastructure aligning with the nation’s Vision 2030 strategy to elevate its football scene.

The iconic venue home to major Saudi football fixtures will now carry the Alinma Bank branding reinforcing the bank’s presence in the sports industry.

The Alinma Stadium will be one of the host venues during the 2034 World Cup.

The 2034 FIFA World Cup™ will be the 25th FIFA World Cup™, a quadrennial international football tournament contested by the men’s national teams of the member associations of FIFA. In December 2024, Saudi Arabia was formally confirmed as the host nation by FIFA following an uncontested bidding process.

The Saudi Vision 2030 is a Government program launched by Saudi Arabia which aims to achieve the goal of increased diversification economically, socially and culturally in line with the vision of the Saudi Crown Prince and Prime Minister Mohammed bin Salman. It was first announced on April 25^th, 2016 by the Saudi Government.
