Rodrigo Gárate Medina who works for the boutique stadia development company Juego de Pelota in Mexico says that the Arena UGRCH – a multipurpose arena to be built in Chihuahua, Mexico – will be so designed and constructed to give a fillip to the economy of the area.

He informed that Chihuahua is a Mexican State known for its deserts and mountains.

Rodrigo Gárate Medina is the Director of Business Development at Juego de Pelota in Mexico with 18 years of experience in the sports and stadium industries.

In a conversation with ‘Coliseum’, Rodrigo Gárate Medina, Director of Business Development, Juego de Pelota, Mexico, informs that he will oversee the optimization of premium seating, suites, multipurpose areas, and other revenue-maximizing spaces of the Arena UGRCH in Chihuahua, Mexico – the planned multipurpose arena of the Unión Ganadera Regional de Chihuahua (UGRCH – the Chihuahua Regional Livestock Union). He asserts that he and his team at the real estate firm Juego de Pelota are pulling out all stops to ensure that the Chihuahua venue once it goes on stream serves as a beacon for the “other venues that are in the planning stage and the business case of the arena is based on financial sustainability”.

Juego de Pelota

New York (US)-based real estate firm Juego de Pelota develop sustainable, prosperous, iconic, state-of-the-art stadia that become great social and economic assets for their Cities and the sports clubs with little or no investment from them through mutually beneficial partnerships.

Unión Ganadera Regional de Chihuahua (UGRCH)

The Unión Ganadera Regional de Chihuahua (UGRCH – the Chihuahua Regional Livestock Union) is committed to the development of livestock activity in the State of Chihuahua in Mexico. It was founded on August 12th, 1936 by the local livestock associations.

The 9,872-capacity planned Arena UGRCH is the baby of the Chihuahua Regional Livestock Union and the organization envisions that once the venue is complete it will go on to boost the livestock industry of Chihuahua and also boost the economy of the area.

Informed Rodrigo Gárate Medina, Director of Business Development, Juego de Pelota, Mexico, “The arena will hold rodeos and concerts and will be so designed so as to garner enough revenue. The sustainability and safety factor will be accorded topmost priority.”

He added, “The initial design included 24 suites but we decided to increase it to 81 suites. We also increased the VIP seating rows from 168 to 1,072 seats as the suites are the primary source of revenue for the arenas and the stadiums. Moreover, an enhanced spectator experience also leads to generation of more revenue.”

Medina informed that the Arena UGRCH will be a multipurpose arena and will host different sporting events – “The arena will be able to stage major sporting events like basketball and combat sports like boxing or Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) as well as the World Cup games and the Super Bowl. The arena has been so designed to facilitate holding major music acts too.”

The arena includes a hall for cattle auctions, corporate events, weddings, and brand activations thus diversifying its use.

Reiterating that the business case of the facility is based on financial sustainability, he stated that even the parking space has been expanded so as to ensure a steady flow of revenue as Medina feels that first-rate facility for fans results in the coffers jingling.

Wrap-up

Rodrigo Gárate Medina summed up by stating that since their business case nub for the UGRCH Arena is financial sustainability so they are going above and beyond to ensure that the stadium once it gets off the ground is able to garner maximum revenue – be it offering spoilt-for-choice food to the fans with four eateries planned and the above factors mentioned – “And, of course, we will boast sensory rooms and wheelchair spaces.”
