The Union of European Football Associations (UEFA) EURO 2028 tournament schedule has been confirmed with 51 fixtures set to be played in nine venues across eight Cities in four host countries.

The final tournament is being jointly hosted by England, Republic of Ireland, Scotland, and Wales.

‘liverpoolcityregion-ca.gov.uk’ stated that the Liverpool City Region has proudly taken part in the official launch of UEFA EURO 2028 joining Cities across the United Kingdom (UK) and Ireland in celebrating the beginning of the countdown to the biggest UEFA European Championship ever staged.

Colin Chong, Everton FC‘s Chief Real Estate and Regeneration Officer, was also at the launch which revealed that Liverpool will host five matches at the Everton Stadium on the City’s waterfront in June 2028.

The Everton Football Club is a professional association football club based in Liverpool, England (UK). The club competes in the Premier League, the top tier of English football.

The 52,769-capacity Hill Dickinson Stadium, known as the Bramley-Moore Dock Stadium or the Everton Stadium during construction, is a football stadium at Bramley-Moore Dock in Vauxhall, Liverpool, England (UK). It is the home ground of the Premier League club Everton F.C.
 
The four group stage matches and one round of 16 fixtures will be held on:

  • June 11th
  • June 14th
  • June 17th
  • June 20th
  • June 24th

 
The kick-off times will be announced following the team draw in December 2027.

To mark the countdown the City’s official tournament logo could be seen emblazoned on the historic landmarks such as the Cunard Building and the Royal Albert Dock and across screens throughout the City.

‘liverpoolcityregion-ca.gov.uk’ further stated that the Everton Stadium’s UEFA EURO 2028 logo was showcased throughout its new stadium kickstarting the excitement that is going to build over the next three years.

The five matches at the Everton Stadium are expected to deliver a multimillion pound economic boost to the region.

A record 24 nations will compete in the tournament between June 9th and July 9th and the organizers are promising an unforgettable festival of football for the fans with more than three million match tickets available for the supporters – in matches held across England, Scotland, Wales, and Ireland.

Under the theme – ‘We Speak Football’ – the tournament brand celebrates the fans that express the universal language of football and their love of the game through the famous cheers, chants and sounds that ring around the stadia every week.

The UEFA EURO 2028 UK and Ireland will also see the largest-ever community program for the tournament. The social impact plans will be delivered by the local stakeholders in each Host Nation to harness the power of sport and culture, bring the communities together and inspire positive change.

These plans will ensure UEFA EURO 2028 is celebrated in hundreds of communities placing the spotlight on football inclusivity, the volunteers and the community heroes. The community program will also use the tournament as a catalyst to grow a more diverse and sustainable game, build belonging, boost pride, and promote positive behaviors at all levels of football.

The 2028 UEFA European Football Championship, commonly referred to as UEFA EURO 2028 or simply EURO 2028, will be the 18th UEFA European Championship, the quadrennial international football championship. It will be co-hosted by England, Scotland, Wales, and the Republic of Ireland and will take place from June 9th-July 9th, 2028.

It governs football, futsal and beach football in Europe and the transcontinental countries of Turkey, Azerbaijan, Georgia, and Kazakhstan as well as the West Asian countries of Cyprus, Armenia and Israel. The UEFA consists of 55 national association members. Since 2022, due to the Russian invasion of Ukraine, the FIFA and the UEFA has suspended all Russian national teams and clubs from any FIFA and UEFA competitions.
