The Munich Football Arena in Munich, Germany, has been selected to host the 2028 Union of European Football Associations (UEFA) Champions League Final with Spotify Camp Nou, Barcelona, Spain, awarded the 2029 decider.

The Allianz Arena (known as the Munich Football Arena for the UEFA competitions) is a football stadium in Munich, Germany, with a 70,000-seating capacity for the international matches and 75,000 for the domestic matches. Widely known for its exterior of inflated ethylene tetrafluoroethylene (ETFE) plastic panels it is the first stadium in the world with a full color changing exterior.

The Camp Nou, officially the Spotify Camp Nou for sponsorship reasons, and often referred to in English as the Nou Camp, is a stadium in Barcelona (Spain) and the home of LaLiga club FC Barcelona since its opening in 1957. It is currently undergoing renovation and with a planned increased seating capacity of 105,000 it will retain its position as the largest stadium in terms of seating capacity in Spain and Europe as well as the second largest association football stadium while becoming the fifth-largest overall stadium in the world.

The UEFA Champions League, commonly known as the Champions League, is an annual club football competition organized by the Union of European Football Associations (UEFA) and is contested by the top-division European clubs.

Nyon (Switzerland)-based the Union of European Football Associations (UEFA) is the governing body of football in Europe and one of FIFA’s six continental confederations for association football consisting of 55 national associations.

The upcoming Champions League Finals:

  • 2027: The 70,692-capacity Riyadh Air Metropolitano Stadium, Madrid, Spain;
  • 2028: Munich Football Arena, Munich, Germany; and

‘UEFA.com’ stated that the Munich Football Arena hosted the Champions League Final in 2012 and 2025 while the stadium was also the venue for six games at the UEFA EURO 2024 and the 2025 UEFA Nations League Final.

The UEFA European Football Championship, less formally the European Championship and informally the EURO or EUROS, is the primary association football tournament organized by the UEFA. The competition is contested by the Members’ Senior Men’s national teams determining the continental champion of Europe.

The UEFA Nations League is an international European football competition played by the senior Men’s national teams of the member associations of UEFA, the sport’s European governing body. The competition was devised to minimize friendlies and give the nations competitive encounters with the equally ranked teams. Teams from all the European associations compete in a league structure featuring promotion and relegation.

‘UEFA.com’ further stated that the Spotify Camp Nou has previously hosted two European Cup/Champions League Finals in 1989 and 1999.
