The Albanian Football Federation has reached a new agreement for the naming rights of the National Stadium in Tirana, Arena Kombëtare (Albania). For the next five years the stadium will continue to bear the name ‘Air Albania Stadium’ as part of a new naming rights partnership with the national airline.

‘FSHF’ stated that the agreement was signed recently at the House of Football by the President of the Albanian Football Federation, Armand Duka, and the Administrator of Air Albania (the national flag carrier airline of Albania) Sinan Isik.

The Albanian Football Federation is the governing body of football in Albania. Headquartered in Tirana it organizes the national football leagues of Kategoria Superiore (the top of the Albanian football league system), Kategoria e Parë (the second tier of professional football in Albania), Kategoria e Dytë (the third-tier professional football league in Albania), Kategoria e Tretë (the fourth and lowest professional level of football in Albania), the Albanian Cup, the Supercup, Kategoria Superiore Femra (the top-tier women’s football league in Albania), and the Albanian Women’s Cup.

‘FSHF’ further stated that for Duka the above agreement will further boost the close cooperation between the Red and Black Sports Center and Air Albania, a national brand with which they share the same vision for the promotion of Albanian values.

The Red and Black Sports Center refers to the 21,690-capacity Arena Kombëtare, also known as the Air Albania Stadium, located in Tirana, Albania.

The Arena Kombëtare is an all-seater, multipurpose football stadium located in the Albanian capital City of Tirana. The stadium has a seating capacity of 22,500 and is the largest stadium in Albania.

Stated Duka, “The naming rights deal best demonstrates our bonding that has added value not only to sport but also to a new model – the way Albanian football interacts with the business world. The name ‘Air Albania Stadium’ is not just a commercial name placed on a sports facility. It all about modern philosophy where sport, economy and national identity go hand in hand.”

This stadium was the first in Albania and among the first in the region to be get a commercial name. It was an innovative decision, a bold step which showed that there is room for sustainable sports marketing models in Albania as well. Today, with the renewal of this agreement for the next five years, we are showing that this market not only exists but is developing.

Added Duka, “Air Albania has been and continues to be a strategic partner, a company that has understood the importance of being part of shared emotions, part of the international image of our country, part of the representation of the red and black flag on and off the field. On behalf of the Albanian Football Association and the Albanian Football Confederation I would like to thank Sinan Isik and all his collaborators for this new agreement, for this act of trust, for this long-term commitment.”

For Isik, maintaining this partnership guarantees stability and prestige for the most important sports facility in Albania which welcomes the national team matches, the finals of national competitions and international challenges – “A special moment for us as a company, as citizens who feel a sense of pride to support Albanian football and the values it represents. Through this agreement with the Red and Black National Center and the Albanian Football Federation Air Albania confirms its commitment to being more than an air transport company, to be an active partner in the social, cultural and sporting fabric of Albania. The decision to continue supporting Albanian football and to once again associate the name of our company with the most important stadium in the country is a clear indicator of the confidence we have in the future of Albanian sport and in the development of our society. Air Albania is moving with confident steps towards expansion, increasing its fleet, destinations, and quality of service, and with the above naming rights deal we have proved that our foundation is stable and our goal is long-term development.”
