The Aramco Stadium (Al Khobar, Saudi Arabia) is taking shape for the 2027 AFC Asian Cup and the 2034 World Cup.

A ‘LinkedIn Post By Khaled AlOjyan, Senior Architect’ stated, “Construction is progressing steadily on the Aramco Stadium in Al Khobar, a key venue for the 2027 AFC Asian Cup and the 2034 FIFA World Cup™. Designed to host over 46,000 spectators the stadium is set to become a new benchmark in Saudi Arabia’s sports infrastructure.”

The ‘LinkedIn Post By Khaled AlOjyan, Senior Architect’ further stated, “The concrete casting of the upper stands has officially begun marking a major construction phase. The stadium is being developed through a strategic alliance between BESIX (Belgium) and Al Bawani (Saudi Arabia) under the leadership of Aramco which is leveraging its project management expertise to ensure world-class delivery. Set to feature air conditioning, VIP and VVIP lounges, training pitches, media zones, and a central energy hub the stadium will serve not just sports but also community and entertainment events.”

“With BESIX’s global stadium experience including projects in Qatar, Australia, New Zealand, and Jeddah the Aramco Stadium is poised to become a landmark in Saudi Arabia’s sporting journey under Vision 2030.”

The Aramco Stadium is a planned multipurpose stadium presently under construction and located in the North of Khobar, Saudi Arabia. It is set to be a venue for the 2034 FIFA World Cup™ and has a proposed capacity to hold 46,096 people.

Federal Territory of Kuala Lumpur (Malaysia)-based the Asian Football Confederation (AFC) is the governing body of association football, beach soccer and futsal in most countries and territories in Asia. The AFC was formed in 1954. It has 47 members.

The 2027 AFC Asian Cup will be the 19th edition of the AFC Asian Cup, the quadrennial international Men’s football championship of Asia organized by the Asian Football Confederation (AFC). The tournament involves 24 national teams after the expansion in 2019. It will be held in Saudi Arabia from January 7th-February 5th, 2027.

The 2034 FIFA World Cup™ will be the 25th FIFA World Cup™, a quadrennial international football tournament contested by the Men’s national teams of the member associations of FIFA. In December 2024 Saudi Arabia was formally confirmed as the host nation by the FIFA following an uncontested bidding process. It will be the third tournament hosted in Asia after Korea and Japan in 2002 and Qatar in 2022. Saudi Arabia will be the second host nation from the Arabian Peninsula in the space of 12 years. It will also be the first time the tournament will be hosted by a single nation since 2022.

The Saudi Vision 2030 is a Government program launched by Saudi Arabia which aims to achieve the goal of increased diversification economically, socially and culturally in line with the vision of the Saudi Crown Prince and Prime Minister Mohammed bin Salman. It was first announced on April 25th, 2016 by the Saudi Government.
