The State of Styria (Austria) will extend assistance to the Austrian Bundesliga team TSV Hartberg to refurbish their home stadium – the Profertil Arena Hartberg in Hartberg, Austria.

‘TSV Hartberg FUSSBALL’ stated that the Profertil Arena Hartberg is in a ramshackled state and the powers that be are initiating steps to lend the top-flight’s home a futuristic look so that it meets the Bundesliga benchmarks.

The nod for the improvization work to begin is expected in January and once the tenders are floated the renovation work is expected to begin at the end of the 2024-2025 seasons, that is by May 2025.

The TSV Hartberg, known as the TSV Egger Glass Hartberg for sponsorship purposes, is an Austrian association football club based in Hartberg, Austria. It was founded in 1946 and currently plays in the Austrian Bundesliga, the top level of the Austrian football league system.

The 5,024-capacity Profertil Arena Hartberg is a sports facility in the Styrian district capital of Hartberg (Austria). The stadium is home to the football club TSV Hartberg which was promoted to the highest Austrian league, the Bundesliga, in the Summer of 2018. The stadium is owned by the City of Hartberg. The stadium is a multifunctional sports facility that is suitable for both football matches and athletics events. The stadium is also used for other events such as concerts.

‘Nothing but the Best’

The Municipality of Hartberg have drawn up the project plan and the stadium will be revamped in such a manner that it can also be used for school sports.

Commented Christopher Drexler, Governor of Styria, “Everybody has come together to revamp the home of the TSV Hartberg as only a state-of-the-art venue can help the top-notch club secure the Bundesliga license which is key. The TSV Hartberg is performing well on the pitch and they deserve a spiffy home ground. Nothing but the best for them.”

The Finance Officer and Deputy Governor of Styria underscored that the above funding to be lent by the State of Styria will set the stadium rejig work rolling. We will be creating an avant-garde arena from which everybody will benefit – the athletes, the fans, the club, the City, and the region.”

The Profertil Arena Hartberg is also used by six schools and sports classes are also held. Around 3,000 students will go on to benefit once the stadium redecoration work is over.

Observed Karlheinz Kornhäusl, State Sports Minister, “Our sports clubs are the pillars of our society. The above facility helps in promoting grassroots sports too.”

The Mayor of Hartberg Marcus Martschitsch gave a shout-out to Governor Drexler, the Deputy Governor Lang and Minister Kornhäusl for leading from the front as regards the stadium spruce-up work.
