The large amount of objects and memorabilia left behind due to the total transformation of the Spotify Camp Nou in Barcelona, Spain, is something to sit up and take notice of and, of course, the LaLiga team FC Barcelona intends to cash in on the same, literally.

‘MARCA’ stated that the above holds more significance for the top-flight since many of these items have to do with the Argentine star Lionel Messi whose history is inextricably linked to that of the club.

The FC Barcelona, also known as Barça, is a professional football club based in Barcelona, Catalonia, Spain, that competes in LaLiga, the top flight of Spanish football.

The Spotify Camp Nou is a stadium in Barcelona (Spain) and the home of the LaLiga club FC Barcelona since its opening in 1957. It is currently undergoing renovation and with a planned increased seating capacity of 105,000 it will be the stadium with the largest capacity in Spain and Europe and the second largest association football stadium in the world.

Due to the total overhaul work of the Spotify Camp Nou, Barça is playing their home games at the 55,926-capacity Estadi Lluis Companys in Barcelona, Spain.

Recently, the ‘Blaugrana’ announced that it would auction through the company Goldin a series of objects and the most coveted one is the soccer giant Lionel Messi’s locker with an exorbitant starting price of 350,000 euros.

Lionel Messi is a former player for FC Barcelona where he played for 17 seasons. Messi made his professional debut in 2004 and went on to set FC Barcelona’s goal-scoring record with 672 goals in 778 matches.

The above auction started from 10 am on January 23rd and will continue until 4 am on February 13th during which period a large number of items that were removed from the Spotify Camp Nou will be available to the highest bidder and Messi’s locker will undoubtedly be the star attraction.

‘MARCA’ further stated that also going under the hammer are the lockers of the other Barça greats such as Ronaldinho Gaúcho (Brazilian former footballer), Gerard Piqué (Spanish former footballer) and Neymar (Brazilian footballer). The corner flags and the pitch shields are also being auctioned.
