Belgium, Lithuania and Belarus have been picked up to stage the Union of European Football Associations (UEFA) European Women’s Under-19 Championship final tournaments of 2023, 2024 and 2025, respectively, by the UEFA Executive Committee at its meeting held in Montreux, Switzerland, recently.

‘UEFA’ stated that for Belgium it will be the first women’s final tournament to be held in their nation, though they have experience of staging men’s events including the U17 EURO of 2007. Lithuania will be following the hosting of the Women’s U17 EURO of 2018.

The UEFA European Women’s Under-19 Championship is a competition in women’s football for European national teams of players under 19 years of age. National under-19 teams whose countries belong to the European governing body UEFA can register to enter the competition.

The UEFA European Under-17 Championship is an annual football competition contested by the European men’s under-17 national teams of the member-associations of UEFA. Spain is the most successful team in this competition, having won nine titles. The Netherlands are the current champions.

The Union of European Football Associations (UEFA) is the administrative body for football, futsal and beach soccer in Europe. It is one of six continental confederations of world football’s governing body FIFA. UEFA consists of 55 national association members.

‘UEFA’ further stated that Belarus, previously hosts in 2009, was to play host to the Women’s U19 final tournament this year but the season was canceled as COVID-19 continues with its ‘Dance of Death’ the world over. The Czech Republic was previously selected as host nation for 2022.
