BMO Stadium in Exposition Park has been picked as the lacrosse venue for the Olympic Games Los Angeles 2028.

US Lacrosse said that located in the heart of Los Angeles, the Stadium in Exposition Park is a world-class venue known for its dynamic atmosphere and exceptional fan experience.

The stadium will provide a stunning stage for the return of lacrosse as a medal sport in the Olympic Games for the first time in over a century.

The stadium is adjacent to the LA Memorial Coliseum, just south of the University of Southern California campus and downtown Los Angeles.

BMO Stadium (formerly Banc of California Stadium) is a soccer-specific stadium in the Exposition Park neighborhood of Los Angeles, California. Opened on April 18, 2018 it was the first open-air stadium built in the city of Los Angeles since Dodger Stadium in 1962

The stadium is home to Major League Soccer’s Los Angeles Football Club and the National Women’s Soccer League’s Angel City Football Club, and has hosted numerous high-profile sporting and entertainment events.

Its central location in Exposition Park places it within walking distance of other key LA28 venues.

The stadium will be shared with flag football and will be configured according to the smaller field of play used for both sport disciplines, keeping the venue action-packed throughout the duration of the Games with back-to-back tournaments.

Lacrosse’s inclusion in the LA28 Games marks a significant milestone in the sport’s global growth and Olympic journey. The competition will feature the fast-paced, fan-friendly sixes discipline, designed to appeal to new audiences and reflect the modern Olympic vision.

All LA28 venue assignments are subject to final approval from the International Olympic Committee Executive Board next month.

Gymnastics will be held at the legendary and recently renovated Crypto.com Arena in Downtown LA that is home to the NBA’s Lakers, NHL’s Kings, and WNBA’s Sparks.

SoFi Stadium, home to the NFL’s Rams and Chargers, will be transformed into the largest swimming venue in Olympic history, with 38,000 seats.

And basketball will head to the nation’s newest and state-of-the-art indoor Intuit Dome in Inglewood, CA, that is home to the NBA’s Clippers.

Athletics and Para Athletics will remain at the iconic and recently refurbished LA Memorial Coliseum, making it the only stadium in history to host Track and Field competitions in three Olympic Games.

LA28’s plans for the Opening and Closing Ceremonies will see parts hosted at both the Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum and SoFi Stadium located in Inglewood, CA.
