Bologna home radical beautification plans

The Serie A team Bologna F.C. 1909 and the Italian construction company Webuild struck a partnership deal recently with exclusivity rights until December 31^st, 2027 for the renovation and redevelopment of the former’s home pitch – the Stadio Renato Dall’Ara in Bologna, Italy – in the Engineering, Procurement and Construction (EPC) mode as well as to conduct further technical feasibility studies as regards the venue revamp.

‘webuildgroup.com’ stated that the above initiative is part of a larger public-private partnership (PPP) project developed by the club in tandem with the Municipality of Bologna.

Once the Stadio Renato Dall’Ara gets renovated the City of Bologna which has been selected to host matches for EURO 2032 can hardsell the venue.

The Engineering, Procurement and Construction (EPC) are a project delivery model where a contractor is responsible for the entire project, from start to finish.

‘webuildgroup.com’ further stated that the above renovation project price tag which stands at 200 million euros aim to renovate and upgrade the venue spaces. The venue will be so transformed to enable it to hold events seven-days-a-week with plush offerings for the fans.

A key element of the Stadio Renato Dall’Ara transfiguration exercise will be the stadium’s roof which will be given the form of a shell- shaped polycarbonate roof to allow the passage of light and air. The metal structures added for the 1990 World Cup in Italy will be removed to expose the ground’s brick arcades. The facility will be revamped as per UEFA Category 4 criteria and will be able to pack in 30,000 spectators. The supporters will enjoy clear sightlines with all stands close to the pitch.

The redecoration exercise will include the redevelopment of the space North of Andrea Costa in which a temporary venue will come up to host the top-flight’s home games while the rejig work is on.
