Brazilian fans return to stadiums Image: gmp

Fans returned to football stadia of 20 top-flight Brazil clubs recently. However, clubs will still have to stick to State laws on public gatherings causing a few schedule changes for the coming rounds of Série A league matches.

‘The Brazilian Report’ stated that the State Government in Bahia (Brazil) has yet to greenlight the return of fans to stadia for which the Brazilian professional football club Bahia’s fixture against the Brazilian football team Ceará stood postponed recently and the same will be played at a later date, once local administrators approve regulations on the subject.

The Campeonato Brasileiro Série A, commonly referred as Brasileirão, is a Brazilian professional league for men’s football clubs. At the top of the Brazilian football league system, it is the country’s primary football competition.

Esporte Clube Bahia, known familiarly as Bahia, is a Brazilian professional football club based in Salvador, capital City of the Brazilian State of Bahia. They play in the Campeonato Baiano, Bahia’s State league, and the Campeonato Brasileiro Série A, Brazil’s first tier league.

The Ceará Sporting Club, or Ceará, as they are usually called, is a Brazilian football team from the City of Fortaleza, capital City of the Brazilian State of Ceará, founded on June 2nd, 1914 by Luís Esteves e Pedro Freire. Ceará is one of the most traditionally successful clubs in the Northeast region of Brazil alongside Bahia.

In São Paulo, the country’s biggest State, Governor João Doria earlier gave permission for fans to return to the stadia fold.

Interlocutors close to discussions claim the top-tier clubs were put under pressure to make a decision after the Rio de Janeiro Brazilian sports club Flamengo obtained a court injunction permitting fans to attend its home games.
